Hi all. I hope everyone's season is going well. I am looking to upsize my binoculars. I have several other products made by BSA and was looking at their binos. Either the TacMaster line or the Majestic series. I was wanting a set of the 12X42s.
Anyone have time behind any of these. Like I said... I have other BSA optics products and find they operate brilliantly for the price. Also, if you have these, where did you buy them? I'm having trouble finding a vendor for the 12X42s.
Thanks for the help.

There's probably not a whole lot of call for them. I saw on another site that they have been discontinued. I would imagine you're starting to get into eye strain territory. Most folks go with a spotting scope after 10X.
Can't say I have ever looked thru a set but my experience dictates you pay as much as you can afford for optics. This is one area (IMHO) where "you get what you pay for". I'd buy Leika or Zeiss if I could afford them.
Thanks for the replies!
If I was in the market for a set of 10X42s and was willing to spend about $300.00 what would be a recomendation?
I have looked at the Leoupold and the Nikons. Anyone have time on any of these optics?

I can't comment on the 10x, but I have the Nikon Monarch's in 8x42 and they are great. I've never owned any high end glass, but the Nikon's have done well for me.
never seen anything bsa with much quality
Well... I decided to go with the Nikon 8X42s. Best I could with my budget. Thanks for the advice.

I think you'll be very happy with them!
Well... the new binos finally came in. They seem excellent! I ordered them through Amazon.com and got a really good deal. Paid just less than $250 for a pair that is normally well over $400. Same features and lens coatings just last year's model.
They seem about the right compromise between size (I hate lugging heavy binos and my bow/gear) and bright/wide lenses. My other set is Leupold 10X23s, small and light weight... great little field glasses, but don't gather much light at dawn and dusk. The new Nikons seem to be extremely bright. They are warranteed waterproof and fogproof.
Best feature is they didn't break the bank and I have some money left over to buy those sets of feather choppers I have been wanting.

Check the reviews on the Swift Audubon HHS 8x44. I just got a pair, unreal glass at the price.....
