It took a few years but I finally connected with my recurve on a deer.
It was October 28th six inches of snow and a beautiful morning on stand. At 830 four does meandered into my shooting lane I picked the biggest of the four waited and picked my spot and the arrow flew true.
A little further back then I would have liked it but it did the job. Heritage 250s, Snuffers, and my baby...Assenheimer recurve.

Well, sir... you won't soon forget the freak snowstorm of October, 2011! Some of us will remember losing power for 2 days (or more) but you shot your first trad deer! And had the added blessing of snow to help track it, too!
Congratulations! It's a very rewarding feeling, ain't it?! That venison will be the best... bon appetit!
Great job! I always get so excited to be able to hunt in the snow.
Congrats, that snow is great for blood trailing. I hunted that storm as well but was not as fortunate.
Great job and beautiful snow shot!
Congratulations! I'm still waiting on my first trad deer.

Nothing quite like traditional harvests-to me it's a feeling of accomplishment with pride- congrats! Also I'm jealous of hunting in the snow! Opening day in South Florida on July 30th ain't the same!
!!!!Congrats!!!!
I too hope to join that club soon...
congrats!
Fantastic deer and hero shot.
Thank you all! That morning will never fade in my memory bank. It was a blessing to be in the woods that morning. It was a surreal day with all that snow. That picture already adorns my wall in a stunning 8x10 frame. The deer's hide will make a handsome tapestry for years to come. I will never forget my first deer with trad gear.
great job. There is nothing like it.... I still can see my arrow arching to my first trad harvest (18 years ago). White feathers on a white dipped cedar shaft.
Nice, a beauty!!
congrats:)
Good Going! That's one you'll never forget.
Nice big doe! I wish I could hunt in the snow. Every time it snows I get called in to work to plow snow off the city streets and parking lots.
The first one is the hardest, congratulations
Nice big doe, and the pic is excellent!
Congratulations!!!

Not much beats your first trad kill. Congrats!!
Congrats on your first!!!
Congrats I know the feeling had my first recurve kill this year. Not my first read kill, I'm pretty much a longbow guy.
Big time Congrats on your first!!!
I got my first Trad deer this season with the help of our TradGang friend Sam Stephens :)

Great job.
Very nice I still remember my first Trad deer.
Way to go! Nothing like your first trad harvest.

Just checked this thread again and really love the hero shot, suitable for framing as we say!
