I just got a new bow and am still technically challenged as to posting pics. Lucky I can turn the computer on. RM81 was kind enough to post some pics for me and if you will kindly scroll down a few posts you will see my new baby. now for the story, some time ago I was scrolling through a trad archery mag when I came upon an add for hill country bows. It seems Roman Hershberger in Millersburg Ohio was building some pretty awesome bows and so I took a drive to go see him. After discussing the many aspects of what I would like to see built into a bow Roman and I settled on particulars and off I went to sit and stew and worry and wonder how my bow would turn out.
Worrying should have never been on the list because after having seen this masterpiece all worry has been erased! For the first time since I started trad I have a bow that shoots where I look! I have gap shot all my bows in the past but not this one! After discussion with Roman as to shelf height etc he turned my ideas into reality and this thing hammers em right where I am looking! It is a wildcat forward riser design. The risers macassar ebony with a cocobolo flare, macassar wedges and veneers. There is also some linen micarta in the riser and tips as well. The pictures do not do it justice but up close you can really appreciate all the figure in the macassar and the quality of the workmanship. I am beyond happy with this bow, It shoots where I look, it is quiet and very fast, even with a heavy arrow. He hit target weight exactly as well which made me very happy. The bow is very accurate for being a 58" bow and once again I could not be happier. I would not normally post pics of a bow but wanted to pay respect to Roman and his Hill Country bows. Sometimes just paying a guy money for what he does is just not enough of a way to say thanks and I hope in the coming months I can find a way to show him how much I appreciate him bringing my ideas to reality. Thanks again Roman!
Sent you a PM

Here's another...
This is a super easy way to post pictures.
The site is called Imagelinky, http://www.imagelinky.com/
You will still need to resize your pictures before uploading them, but this site will allow you to skip the whole photobucket transfer step.
1.) Resize all pictures to be posted to 640 pixels wide
2.) Open http://www.imagelinky.com/
3.) Select the "Browse" button on the Imagelinky site. A window will open.
4.) Go to the place on your computer where the picture is stored, select the picture file and click the open button.
5.) From the Imagelinky window click the "Upload" button. Three boxes will appear.
6.) Copy everything from the third box "Forum Link"
7.) Paste everything that was copied into the Trad Gang message box and select "Preview Post"
The picture should have transferred. Repeat steps 3 – 6 to add more pictures.

Thanks again RM81! Thats why trad gangers are the best!!!!
Wow what a stunning bow!
Love the wood combo and lines on that one!
VERY nice looking bow. Congratulations.
Roman Hershberger does beautiful work! Gorgeous bow.
Wow, that is a looker!! Congrats!!!
Another of Roman's beauties! Nice wood choices.
You have very good reason to be proud, stunning bow, congrats.
Very nice bow and good shooting.
Wow! That is a beauty
Really nice! Congrats!
What a Looker!!!
Stunning bow right there! Congrats!
Very nice looking bow. I like that finish. Congrats!
thank you everybody for the positive comments. I stink as a photographer and the pictures do not do it justice. When my aging mother saw it she said it should be hung on the wall as art. That coming from a nonhunter. His craftsmanship is as good or better than any I have ever, repeat ever seen and I truly feel he is one of the best kept secres in bow building. I have been shooting it for a week and it is my "go to" bow without question. I was not aware I could get some of the groups I have been getting till I started shooting a Hill Country. Thanks again eveybody,, I hope Roman gets the recognition he deserves,
Not only is your Hill Country a looker, she appears to be quite lethal.
Congrats!!!!
Great shooting Matt. I saw it Saturday before last, before the last coats of matte finish were applied. She was purty then, but STUNNING now.
Since you talked Roman into making the changes on the grip, he's doing all the Wildcats like that now. I love it! Even more of a shooter now.
He's currently building me a 56" recurve, one piece, that I have the prototype of now. This one is 42# and smokes a heavy arrow. Mine will be 50-53#, and I can't wait to get my mitts on it.
Wow! That is a beauty
Good right to be proud! Awesome!
That's a fine looking bow. Looks like a psax riser with longbow limbs..hmmmm...idea! Can he make a set of longbow limbs for my widow riser?
I am sure he can make just about anything! He also makes finely crafted furniture as well. I have already spoken to him about making a set of longer recurve limbs for tournaments and he said it would be no problem, all he will need is the riser so he can match them up. That will be the hard part, letting go of it long enough for him to complete the limbs! I am taking it afield for the next four days to see if I cant get a little blood in her eye. Roman calls her "black death" we shall see. Kenny I would also like to buy one of his short recurves in a one piece, he had one with a coco riser there that I was drooling on not long ago. I have shot eight or ten of his bows now of different configurations and they are all quiet and fast.
I need some contact o please. I would like to call and speak with him about limbs or a complete set up. The k2 looks good as does the wildcat...its a tossup! The widow may have to go to so I can get in one
Fountain, I asked Roman about your Widow limbs. The answer is no. Sorry. His press is set up to do Hill Country limbs. I'm sure Widow wouldn't build Hill Country limbs either.
You can reach Roman at 330-674-9609. Leave a message and he'll call you back. Or you can call me directly at 330-730-6478, I can take your order as well as send you any pictures I might have.
The new website is in progress
Ooooo well..it was a thought. I will give ya a call for more info and pics. Anybody need a good used widow ...classifieds here I come!!
Very nice bow!! Congratulations! I have a Wildcat and love it.
Kenny isn't lying about that 42# prototype short recurve he has. That thing SMOKES a heavy arrow.
At 42# it would be pure joy to shoot all day.
That is somkinda bow! purty too
