First, any tips for boggy would be great.
Now on to the trad shooting stuff. I've bow hunted for 26 years now but always with a compound. I've shot recurves for as long as I can remember but never hunted with one. Drawing out for the MCAAP hunt this year I've gotten much more serious and haven't enjoyed archery this much in a long time. The simplicity, well I just love it. I'm ready to sell the compound and start a self bow project LOL. maybe a bit to much gung ho? :knothead:
Anyway, I've read a bunch on this site now for several months and finally registered this weekend so I could thank you guys for posting so much great info. I've learned a ton from just reading your stuff.
Welcome!! :wavey:
And good luck at the hunt!!
Good luck at MCAAP! I hunted in Deer Creek the last week of Oct. One of my group shot a hog and got a quality pass for next year. No deer shot in our group though. We ended up in a not so great area and by the time we found a good spot the hunt was almost over.
Bisch
If possible look for a pinch point in the woods along a creek but do not worry about being close to a road or bunker. Those deer are comfortable anywhere on that base.
I've got a map of the hunt areas. If you want it let me know and I can email it to you. I've hunted Boggy one time and like Bisch I found a good spot too late. I didn't make the same mistake the following year in Hominy and shot a buck.
My brother will be there this weekend and I think he is in Boggy. This will be his 4th yr running because of quality tags but I am hearing that they are not giving any for does this year but only hogs.
What part of ok u from? I was in boggy this last weekend and found a pretty sweet spot with about fifty scrapes or so. I'm in Tulsa and it would be easier to show u on a map than type it
I'm in Enid but driving through Tulsa today on my way. Probably tough to meet on such short notice?
Yea I'll pm umy number, call with a map in front of you, preferably bing because the google map has clouds over the area
This is my weekend to be there but I'm still in Iraq.
Thanks for your service, Richards
your missing the earthquakes, too.
Serving is an honor, I hope to get after them with my selfbow when I get home.
