how do you guys protect your sharp broadheads from rusting? is there somthing i can do to keep the edge from forming rust but not effect the BH when shooting at an animal?
thanks,
steven
I've been useing chapstick for years. I lightly coat them periodically, have'nt had any problems.
A sharpie works too and doesn't build up in your quiver.
2x the Sharpie
I have always used vaseline-gonna try the sharpie.
Spray product called "Slide All" by Elmer's.
Chapstick. Cheap, easy to use, no scent to speak of and no mess.
vaseline
Silly Me!!! I just keep sharpening them to take the rust off... ;)
All the methods mentioned work well. I use some of my string makers wax.
I'm in the Chapstick camp...but I've also used Vaseline. Either product works great.
Food grade silicone works great, I use it on fletching and it waterproofs them. I like the chapstick trick!
chapstick here
X 3 on Magnus' suggestion of coloring the edge with a sharpie. And no reflection from the edges while sitting in a stand with an arrow on the string.
I used to coat the edges with various things but it seemed to collect too much dirt. Now I just run the file over them occasionally if I get any rust forming.
Never heard of using a Sharpie, sounds like a good idea.

I use Ballistol, keeps my handguns and BH's rust free...PR
Thanks for the post. Wouldn't have thought about the Sharpie.
Vaseline for me for years. But a Sharpie,I'll try it.
I use a thin coating of WD40.
will any of these agents act as a coagulant?
