My vacation hunt is limited to about 3 days this year due to knee surgery burning up all my sick days and most of my vacation!
But I'll take ya along if you wanna go! Here is Fridays hunt:
I hit the stand well before daylite, sat a long time with nuthin but squirrels around. Beautiful morning anyway with a nice SW wind. Was hunting the West edge of a big timber/ swamp area, I like hunting the upwind side of timber, the wind lifts your scentstream right up over the woods. Wind is like water ,it seeks the easiest route.
About 8:00, a coyote comes by about 60 yds out from the N, he's carrying something bright red.
I let him get S of me a ways, then lipsqueak, here he comes, stops and buries the red morsel by a big oak, then on up to get the easy sqeekin meal. I shot him at about 12 yds, still plenty steep angle, he went 25 yds and down.
Rattled in a spike and took pics of him sniffing the bloddy arra stuck in the ground, but the pics are on my cell phone(why do I forget my dig cam??)
Went and looked at his prize, looked a lot like a deer lung.
Stopped by at a later hunt and took a pic, my cell pic I couldn't get to my computer.

If you wonder why I didn't skin him, he stunk so bad I couldn't barely get close nuff for a pic! Must have rolled in somethin really dead!
Fri eve, 1 doe comes by right at dark, but I'm lookin for bucks now, back to does after the 1st rut.
Back in a bit for Saturday!
You got the yips?
Nice Yote!!
That is an accomplishment
that is awesome great pic too
Love those MO yotes
Way to go! One yoate down means more deer and turkey!!!
Thanks guys!
Randy, he is nowhere as big as your MO yote!
Here is Sat eve(slept thru alarm in AM!) :banghead:
Heck of a nite tonite!
Hit the stand at 4:00, at 4:25 a medium 8 shows along creek 250 yds out. He eats beans for a bit, then drops back in creek.
5: I hear something to the east,a deer slipping thru the brush toward the beanfield. Holy moly there is already 5 in the field! Ends up being 9 there, they are coming towards me,will hit my scent and blow outta there.
It never happens, one doe raised her nose, but nothing was said.
A few minutes later a good 8 pt comes out and starts my way. He gets past bein downwind of me and looks my way and trots off as I'm trying to get a pic.
I look back the other way and there is a GOOD 8 pt.
He makes a scrape and then heads down the trail to a 10 yd shot.He is about to hop the ditch and be in my lane when the SQUIRREL makes an acrobatic leap with a rough landing bout 8' over his head. He turns nearly inside out and leaps back to stand 8 yds from me,scanning every tree in the timber.I don't wanna shoot til he settles down, but he walks away without giving me a good shot...(meanwhile does and fawns have been coming by in bunches, lost count around 20)
Dang you squirrel!
Its a conspiracy, I tell ya, a conspiracy!
Out West when I lived in MT, it was them stinkin red squirrels or piney squirrels teamed up with elk...here it's whitetails and greys! :(
Feel for ya brother. Congrats on not forcing the shot!
Nice yote kenny!
No rush for the shot here, I've been guilty of holdin out too long to shoot anything and sippin tag soup several times. (many times!)
Thanks Tyler! This is your bows ugly older sis!
Sun AM was uneventful but beautiful cool weather.
Sun eve I went ot a favorite stand near a bedding area. Saw a few squirrels, 1 little buck that shunned my grunts and lite rattlin....
This is the views...

With slow activity, decided to work a couple days, then start vacation!!
....love sticking ..YOTES !!! Nice job!
I love seeing that Kenny. One of the best bow hunting trophy's in North America no doubt.
Thanks Jeff!
TJ, I have way more trouble gettin up next to a decent buck than a yote! LOL
Maybe its cause there are more yotes than big bucks!
Forgot to say I thought I was gonna get a double on yotes, his littermate came in about 15 min later, but took a different path and crossed where I walked in. Even my rubber boots and scentkiller(homemade) spray didn't fool his nose. He didn't panic, simply knew sumpin was up and drifted back the way he came. He wasn't as hungry as the first one or smelled a large rat!
Good job Kenny. I think they look good shoulder mounted with a snarled look on their face. A yote is on my must kill list.
My bobcat mount nearly broke the bank!! I'll have to pass for now on the yote mount! LOL
Nice job on the coyote!
OK,I had to work more than I thought this week due to unforseen probs., but as of now I'm back to vacationin!
The weather may be even better now than when I had to go to work! :bigsmyl:
thanks for taking us a long!!! :campfire: :coffee:
Thanks for the hunt Kenny. And congrats on the dog
Shawn
Good luck Kenny, looking forward to seeing more!!!
Good luck, thank you for sharing!
Amazing success on the yote
  :notworthy:

Kenny is a real coyote killer. He killed one early in the week when we were there at his place. Good job Kenny. I say thin them out!
How about this evenings hunt?
Slow start to this portion! No deer tonite, only these nutcases!! :D
(http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/kennym/006-22.jpg)
Nice going on the coyote. You will get that buck.
Interesting hunt this AM.
Saw nuthin til 8:30, a nice doe shows up over left shoulder, then wanders off behind and to my left, nibbling and eating acorns. She has a fawn with her.
8:45 I hear her running back to me, she pauses under the stand(no pic,I know what is coming!)
Here he comes, trailing her on the run. He stops at 50 yds to get a handle on her, she takes off strait out in front of my stand, and here he comes, too fast tho.
When he gets even with me, running down the bottom of the ditch to the right of my stand about 22 yds out, I make a kissy noise to stop him , but he turns up the bank to me and stops on the bank facing me at about 20 yds.
I'm already standing and at full draw, and the arrow is gone without concious thought.
The arrow blows right on thru and sticks in the ground, here is what I found when I got down.
Hey , its lunchtime! :D
You had me at vacation Kenny

Thats 2 in 7 days, I'm huntin yotes now, maybe the deer will come in.
Wow! You sure are getting lots of shooting practice. Coyotes are pretty small targets. I miss them with a gun sometime.
Looks like the temperature cooled down a little.
I swear these guys walk away and have a good laugh KNOWING that we are patiently waiting for details.
:bigsmyl:
Looks like a good hunt. Saw some deer, got a coyote, and got a nice shot of that hawk. Thanks for sharing.
Great story and pics!

:bigsmyl: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper:
Way to go Kenny!
Years ago i rattled in a small buck, he stopped about 40 yards out looking my way.. Suddenly he looked over his shoulder and bolted away... A moment later here came a pair of coyotes and chased after the little buck. I doubt they got close to him but ya never know.
Great job Kenny! Fortunately, it sound like you've still got plenty of deer around despite the yotes.
Nice!!
Glad your enjoying you time in the tree.
Good shootin' Kenny!
Bravo brother.
