Thought I saw a new bow in a Magazine, did black widow introduce a new bow/ thanks, mark
:campfire: That's 1 question I gotta know the answer to as well. ALOT of speculation!
From what I hear , yes they are
Which magazine, and when? I doubt they've put next year's new bow in a magazine. But over the last several years, they have introduced two new bows: The PA and the PCH.
There have been a lot of speculations on just what it is going to be.
In the new TBM Denny Sturgis Jr and Nathan Andersohn both were shooting Black Widow LBs PLK. I haven't read the story so don't know if they mention the bows in the story.
Whittler said, "In the new TBM Denny Sturgis Jr and Nathan Andersohn both were shooting Black Widow LBs PLK."
The Plk should have been typed PLX...A typo error by TBM...That's all that is. Nothing more.
Whittler is correct, there is speculation about a new bow design by BW that will be revealed in 2012.
Hope this helps.
Rumor has it........Jan. 2012!
On their site they say they are going to.. But they are playing it really close to their vest... My guess is it is going to be a ILF Riser... Every bowyer now seems to be making them..
I wish they would come out with longbow limbs for their TD risers.....seems to make sense, and doubt would be that hard for them talented folks at BW....
Just got off the phone to Roger, and got out of him that they've been following the HH Bug thread on TradGang, and have decided to jump on the band wagon with an American flatbow / D-longbow.
Ben, I don't have any reason not to believe you... but I'm wondering if Roger would really tell anyone this early...
A little leg-pullin', perhaps...?
I talked to Ken Beck afew years ago about making a Hill type bow and he stated that they are totally not interested in it??? I am 99% sure it is going to be an ILF riser.... Only thing that makes since... They are missing out on a large part of the market if they don't.. They seem to keep in line with the trends... Like the really short risers that everyone is and was making.A year later after everyone else they made the "PCH"...
Over 5000 post's in the Hill thread. if any Bowyer is not paying attention to that, just not being a good businessman at that.
Roger from Blackwidow will say there is something new, but we will have to wait until Jan 2012.
The last time they came out with the new PCH, I was able to order it 3 months before it came out, but not this time.
I am surprised they can keep it a secret this close to 2012. My hope is that they would make LB limbs to fit their T/D's, but that ain't going to happen. My guess too is the ILF riser.
Time will tell.
I think it will be a 3 pcs long bow.
I know in the past they were working on a hybrid. We only have to wait a couple of months...unless it somehow leeks out...8^)
They're making compounds now. i heard it from a cousin of a friend of one of the black widow guy's neighbor.
I am enjoying all this enthusiastic anticipation.
At K-Zoo I asked Roger or Toby (can't remember which) about LB limbs. He said they were working on it. Nothing major, just a brief conversation, but it I left with the impression it was going to happen.
I think the ILF trend among hunters is slowy dying.
Sure there are folks who will always use them but it seems the peak of interest was a few years back.
Then came the 3 piece hybrid longbow.. It seems to me this one is also loosing steam.. I may be all wet on both of these observations too !
It will be interesting to see what their marketing strategy is..

Hardly! ILF type bows are by far the fastest growing segment of the recurve world today. Just look at the new offerings not only from the traditional bowers but also the compound manufactures getting into the market.
Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be good.
:jumper:
Hmmm, looks like nobody believes our friend Ben Kleinig, huh? :dunno:
David no disrespect intended at all towards Ben. I am sure what he repeated that Toby/ Roger said is true... But I think maybe the Guys at BW were pulling his leg...
IMHO a 5000 post thread is not going to cause BW to invest 10's of thousands of dollars to start making "D" shaped longbows.. Now if everyone from that thread would call them over a months time demanding one?? Maybe??
If you look, alot of the sponsors here have started making ILF bows.. Morrison, Belcher, ect.ect. It would be only logical that BW would want a share of that pie as well seeing that it is a growing segment of their base.
I also believe that they may start to produce high end foam limbs..
The ILF idea seems to make sense, but... that just doesn't seem very "Black Widow" to me. Their prowess is in fast shooting, no-stack, high-quality bows. I personally don't see them making an ILF riser and sticking it on the selling block. Then again, ILF-compatible limbs and riser... maybe?
If I were a betting man, I'd put my chips on it being a 3-piece longbow or LB limbs for their risers. That's what a lot of people have been asking them for, and there are already a pile of BW loyalists who would be looking to place orders for such. I would be intrigued by a 3-piece PL longbow, but then again, is there much gain in having a 3-piece when I've already got a 2-piece? Hmmm.
Sorry, fellows! It was a little bit of Aussie leg-pulling! I have no idea, but thought I'd make a joke.
Hey Ben! :D :nono:
I could see them making a shrew type bow or a 3 piece longbow.

I agree, in the same way people are losing interest in the IPhone.
:biglaugh: :biglaugh:
I'd love a longbow with the TF riser.
I would like to see them put out a three piece longbow. Not to picky as long as its a three piece.
My money is on a 3 piece longbow. I just don't see BW, with the marketshare they have making a riser that you could put somebody elses limbs on.
Either way, it's exciting!
I agree, Matt.
A 3-piece longbow something like a pronghorn... I could see that. A super short shrew-like bow... that'd be interesting, too, but it could cut into their PCH sales.
Maybe it's a horse bow.
I saw one and got to handle it. It was made of Kingwood.
Very pretty! If I were to let out what it is I would be subject to
Great bodily Harm!! No one is close.
Sorry, Jerry
I expect them to make a static recurve with all the good feedback that Quik Styk, EagleWings. Dryad and others have got with the statics. In fact I don't understand what has been holding them back.
God bless you all, Steve
Jerry... I can't imagine that they would let such a secret out! I remember going to Nixa prior to the release of the PCH, and the guys DID show the prototype to me, though. I was pretty ignorant of all things trad at the time, so it didn't mean much to me.
You just can't make statements like that, though, because now the Black Widow paparazzis are going to be all over you like white on rice!
LOL . I am on the Widow Wall almost as much as I am here. And the people that are dang near family members to the company haven't even been let in the circle??
Now if you really want to know? Everyone just send me $10 for the airfare and I can do a black ops kinda thing for us. lol

Maybe it's an i-bow...
Or better yet, a Black Widow i-American flatbow / i-D-shaped longbow...
It would have a touch-screen and internet capabilities to check TradGang on-stand.
Whoa Ben, you're getting warmer, getting warmer!
I heard that they actually have two new products being released in January.
The first Black Widow compound! It's true! The PCT-99 (Phenolic Compound Thingy - 99% let-off). A new breed of wheel technology with 99% let-off complete and a complete line of techno gadgets to get the total sale above 2K! A money maker to be sure! Obsolete the day before you actually buy it!.
And...get this...a Black Widow .50 caliber semi-automatic deer rifle complete with infra red scope, laser rangefinder, & bi-pod. It's going to be called the PBW-500 Hertz-a-lot. (Phenolic Black Widow). Listing at just over 5.5K this top end deer rifle is guaranteed to set you back financially as well as physically (about 2 feet) after you squeeze the trigger and get done with the costs of replacing your shoulder!
But get this...it's all fair chase! For the real sportsman in all of us!
I'd love to see them build a simple D flatbow or Hill style. Adding R/D limbs for the existing risers might be a better business decision given all the recurve handle "longbows" I'm seeing all over the place; but that would be a real snooze to me; day late and a dollar short.
What's an IPhone ??????

My money is on the following:
A 1 pc version of the PCH and discontinue the PSR
That's my guess and I'm sure it's right.

>>(Reuters) In an unlikely short-term alliance, Wikileaks and the National Enquirer have teamed up to uncover what has recently become one of the world's most enigmatic secrets. Top-secret documents have been discovered, indicating that in November 2011, 5 lucky bowhunters will be allowed to both see and shoot the Black Widow Bow Company's newest secret product, to be released in January 2012. Five golden tickets have been secretly inserted in game animals on 5 continents. The species have yet to be determined. The individuals that harvest these animals and find these tickets will be allowed in the secret Black Widow catacombs, rumored for years to be located underneath of the company's production facilities.
For the first time ever, outside individuals will have the opportunity to see the mysterious little singing men who have been rumored for years to do the actual bowyering for the company. Once inside, these 5 lucky winners will not be allowed to leave the compound until after the Company's puzzling new product is released in early January 2012, due to privacy concerns.
The Black Widow Company refused to comment for this story, saying only: "We cannot confirm nor deny this report."
Archie...
Now that right there is funny!! It's good to see there are a few of us with a sense of humor!
I'm hoping for that short shrew type longbow, but think it will be a one piece MA. They produced them in the past so seems like an easier transition than making a new bow from scratch.
Oh yeah, and I'd probably order one if it were a one piece MA.
These is more gossip, rumor and innuendo floating around here than on Wisteria Lane and "Desperate Housewives". Nobody knows anything, but everybody has an opinion about it. :saywhat:

A 3 piece longbow AND a ILF riser
It's the new RAMBOW. The upper limb doubles as a nail file, and the lower limb as a knife/fork/spoon combination. Riser is hollow to accomodate storage of fishing hooks, matches, and toothbrush. :D
My guess is that it is a 3 pc. longbow. That would be nice.
I'd love a one piece MA.
64 inch recurve pattern after the old Ben Pearson Recurve one pc.!!! Morgan Fairchild told me, she did.... :) :goldtooth: Geaux Tiger beat BAMA ...Roll GOLD
Not only have I run out of popcorn, but now I cannot sleep. :deadhorse:
What is it? Really?
It is the often sought after but seldom found MAGIC bow! A shooter simply cannot miss when using this bow.
:D
