I've been using an E.W. Bateman Cordovan tab with my Hill bows, but want to try a glove. I love how slick the cordovan is. Which Bateman glove do you use and why? Or if there is another maker with a cordovan glove let me know. I do prefer the old school glove design like Howard Hill shot.
I used the heavy cordovan Bateman glove with the inserts for years and loved them, but since dropping bow weight several years ago, I switched to the G9 glove with the adjustable stalls and cordovan tips. It's now my favorite glove, by far.
I have the glove with two layers, I think it's the STGC model on their website. It's a great glove but a little too thick for me. I wish I had ordered the single layer glove.
I also have a Howard Hill Archery deluxe glove without the inserts that I think is the best glove I've ever used. The finger stalls on the Hill glove are a little longer also, which I like.
Love those heavy Cordovan Bateman's with inserts. They do take a while to break in so you can't give up too quickly on them if you decide to give them a try. They can throw your shooting off until you have them broken in. Once you get it broken in it will last a long, long time. My advice is if you find that you like it after you break it in, get a second one immediately and get it broken in too. That way if you lose your first one in season, you won't have any break in at a critical time.

That's some of the best advice I've heard in a long long time!
they are great gloves I cut i/4 inch offthe tips exposing the fingertips your fingers being deeper in the glove permit a deep hook like a longer hill glove that can be ordered from them the cordovan makes for a slick release byron ferguson used to use the very same glove takes a bit of time to break in but worth it I think
Hello everyone, I'm a french archer, i shoot 66 and 73 pounds longbows, I never found in France a glove for heavy weight bows.
So far i had Neet or Martin archery gloves and my fingers were in very bad condition.
I had to order E.W. Batemen STGC with inserts, so far it's the best glove i have ever used. It's hard to break in, but i have no more pain in my fingers. I ordered twice, i usually use Medium size, but it was too small, had to order Large, and it's still very tight, i think it will fit perfectly after awhile.
Steve at Northern Mist turned me onto the Bateman Glove. STGC is the best glove I've ever used.
love my STGC glove with insets, a little stiff at first but its as slick as cat **** on release awesome glove and no more finger pain
I've used a Bateman cordovan for probably in excess of 5 years and love it. It still looks almost brand new, and that NOT because it doesn't get used! Great idea about getting a second one. Kind of like having a second string already shot in, huh?
After shooting with a glove since 1957 - 1974, then from about 09 to the present, a Nat'l and world champ got me to switch from a glove to a tab, ( he said Bateman only ) about a 9-11 months ago, It took a little while to get used to, maybe because I was breaking it in and it was also so new to my shooting style, but now I would be lost without it. Not that I can't shoot without it, it's just so much more comfortable.
Which reminds me, I must order another one and start to break it in.
Thanks
