I am about to purchase a ground blind. I am looking at "PRIMOS DOUBLE BULL DARK HORSE RECURVE BLIND". Center height approx 74". Has anyone use this blind and what is your opinion on it? Easy to set up, heavy to carry, and does it work well for traditional bows? I will be using a 60" longbow. Mainly using it for deer, turkey, and any game that crosses my view. :D
Will be watching this thread as well. Plan to try and pick up a blind in the coming sales from the local sporting goods stores trying to dump their inventory. Currently I have an Ameristep Outhouse blind and I hate it, way to small.

I went through the same decision making process last year. I have buddies who have Double Bulls and while they are real good blinds, I just don't believe that they are worth the extra money when compared to some of the other blinds on the market. Furthermore, unless you don't cant your bow at all, you probably won't notice a few inches difference in height. I ended up with a Primos Ground Max Vision blind in Predator camo with a 70 inch center height for less than half of the price of a Double Bull and have been very happy with it.

I've used most of them out there at one time or another the last few years.
Double bull are the heaviest IMO but they are the best made. You get your money's worth.
Ameristep is next but keep it to the big models.
The rest... I've got mixed emotions over. If it's my money I'm buying Double Bull or Ameristep.
I also have the Primos Vision blind, and I like it a lot!!!

Funny this topic should pop up. I happen to be sitting in my Dark Horse recurve blind as I type this on my iPhone. I can't tell you how much I love and use this blind. I've actually sold some stands because of it. I'm heavy into filming now so being in this blind is great. I have taken critters out of it with everything from a 52" to a 66" bow. I also have two double bull tri stools (one for my wife) that work excellent. I HIGHLY recommend getting a blind pack to carry the blind and all of your goodies. I purchased the Blind Hog carrier for mine. The quality of this thing is insane for the money. I believe I paid $80 for mine. Double Bull has the Wild Thing but is way over priced IMO. You can also completely waterproof this blind with a couple cans of Camp Dry. Go heavy on the seams. I could go on about this blind but I'll stop. Since I'm currently hunting out of it I will take pics of it and all my stuff as I have it set up and after it's all packed up in the Blind Hog.
I've spent a lot of money over the years on this passion and the Bull would be in my top three best buys.

By the way, my complete set up as I carry it (always prepared for all day sits) weighs approximately 45 lbs.
I hate being cramped in a commercial built pop up blind. I also shoot 66" recurves.
For me, the Ameristep pop up Penthouse blind with it's dimensions of 78"x90" is the cat's meow.
I like my Barronett.

x2 for Barronett! I bought the Snake Eyes blind. Plenty of room to shoot and lots of options in window configurations.
I have three Matrix recurve blinds and now have a Dark Horse recurve model. I like them. I shoot 66" bows and I am 6'6" tall. They have plenty of shooting room for me. I haven't had any issues with the Dark Horse yet. It is on its second season. The Matrix blinds I have I had trouble with rods breaking in the hubs. I think they remedied that on the Dark Horse by reinforcing the rods with aluminum sleeves where they go into the hub. I still have the original Matrix I bought when they first came out. It is still in service. Has some tears in the material at the bottom of the blind but she still works.
I bought a Barronett 350 Bloodtrail last spring to use for turkeys. I use a 62" longbow and the blind has tons of room in it. The price of it was a lot less than the Double Bull. I haven't used it for deer, but I'm very pleased with it so far.

Nothing against any blinds mentioned here. Just some food for thought. Yopu can put a 4 wheeler in this blind, & it's 90 inches tall. I can almost shoot my recurve standing up in it, & I'm 6 ft tall.

The dark horse works for recurves. I didn't have the 'recurve' version but still had plenty of room with my 56" Bob Lee. I'm guessing up to 62" you'd be fine in a regular double bull.
Highly recommended if you are after a hub style.
