thought about putting a leather grip on my Robertson fatal styk as its a little slick sometimes. i like the ones that wrap all the way around and tied with art. (or real) sinew. i looked on several websites on different kinds, but figured i may make a "custom" one.i've read where you can put barge cement to help hold but do i really need that if i just sinew it together tight enough. i really wouldnt want to put cement on my bow.. does anybody have any pics of theirs or suggestions on how to do it?.. if i get a lighter colored piece of leather, could i stain it? if so, what brand stain. thanks in advance. seth
Here's a Super K I put a leather grip on. Stitched in the front with some waxed hobby thread (looks like sinew). I really like it.

What's good about barge cement is that the leather and the cement residue are relatively easy to remove without damage to the bow.
Personally, I like the leather on longbows lots more than on recurves.
Tandy Leather has stain in many colors. Where in Ms. are you located?
Soooooooo very simple to do. Try it, you will be amazed how easy it is.
