Wanted to see if there would some interest in a bow pass around? If there is some interest then the person receiving it would be responsible to ship out with insurance of a cost of $25 to the next person in line. The persons shooting the bow would write a true account of there experience with the bow. What is a feasable time between each person? So let me know because I have a bow in the works that has black onyx strataply (actionwood)handle with some green half moons separated by grey glass. Also, I would like to know what a average draw weight that most folks would be comfortable shooting?
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
I would be very interested.
I think it would be great, even if I don,t think I could participate... But I will chime in as for specs... I think in between 45 and 50# would be the best all around draw wheight. As for the time pass with each person, less than 2 weeks wouldn't be anought and more than 2 weeks it would take for ever to have a decent amount of shooters using it!
Just my thoughts...
I would be interested please keep me in mind when gettin the final list
Thanks
Jay
Would the bow be either left or right handed for us southpaws. Along with would be long enough for those of us with a 31" draw? I think 2 weeks between shoots is plenty of time.
Let's see about how many folks there are and which are left or right handed. I wouldn't have any problems with making another handle that would accommodate the southpaws by now means. I would have then a right and left handed riser, one of each of course. So lets keep this going and see about the interests.
Thanks for the participation,
Dave
Southpaw here.
Could a dual shelf bow be a possibility?
Or is this a takedown type?
50# @ 28 is a good round poundage....
That'd be cool. I'd love to chip in.
South paw here too would also be interested.
Righty here and interested.
Righty here, but can shoot lefty, too. And, yes, I would be interested.
Matt
I would be interested in a rh 55lbs or less.
I'm righty and would be interested in anything 65# and under. I also agree that two weeks is plenty.
Travis

Travis
I would be interested.
right hand for me. 45-50lbs I think would be good for most people.
Lefty, 45-50max, but I am a beginner looking for my dream bow so have not built up the weight yet. If I could get second-3rd week of Jan I could even use it on a deer hunt that has plenty of game opportunities!!!
Hi Dave, you know I've been itching to get my hands on one of your bows for quite a while now! 45-55 with two risers for two weeks sounds about perfect to me.
Thom
That is awesome and I think we will go in order of the threads for folks. I will get a lefty going and get some pics up of the handle. I should have some glass in this week and get going on the limbs 45-50 lbs sounds about great. I think that a 62" AMO bow should be good as well.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
Here is the order of folks as of now. I think that a max of 15 people is a good amount of folks for the first pass around.
Trojanman
david yukon
jay b
skilonbw
bud b
nattybumppo
ammobooger
ragingwater
grinch
house
caleb7mm
fisherking73
sticksnstones
I will take one more person for this pass around.
So if you are interested let me know and I will put your name on the list.
Thanks
Dave
Put me on the list please! RH
I would be interested. I would say around 50 pounds would be good for most folks.
Here is a pic of the two handles. The grey/green is right handed and the brown/grey is left handed. I didn't want to make them exactly the same as to show some options that folks can see. The handle is designed to fit the life line of your hand and allows for the hand to be placed about a 40% angle. Now this is not the only handle option that I do but I believe that it allows a real proper fit to the handle.

I would like to also get a chance but soon to be going overseas. (40-50lbs rt.)
What I would really like is to know more about the handle you have on website that appears to be a single fingergroove. Interested. I'm partial to the radiused shelf also. Nice looking bows. Where are you based at?
Is there any way to juggle with other members as to when to receive the bow? I woul REALLY love to take this on my hunt from January 8-16th for deer and hogs. Also will the bow be up for sale or auction at the end? Those are beautiful!
Dave;
I like the handles both a lot looking forward to try it out.
I would have to say that they would be for sale after the pass around. Fisherking73 I will leave it up to you to see about the juggling around with the folks here. I don't think there should be to big of a deal, I hope. I will keep in touch and let you all know when the limbs will be done. Does anyone have a preference on limb core woods? I have bamboo and actionwood cores in stock, which is what I prefer over anything else.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
Dave,
This is really exciting. I can't wait for my turn.
Thanks!
Matt
OK will communicate with other members and see if it can be worked out. Very stoked, great opportunity for me to try a custom bow since I have no shops or builders close by to me.
Interested here, right hand, 55# or less. Two weeks or under is more than enough time.
Great idea, and I am jealous of the 15! :) Looking to hear what people say, and those are some nice looking risers.
I should have my shipment of glass soon then the limbs will be glued up and the first on the list I will contact for shipping instructions.
Thanks
Dave
keep this at the top so I don't loose it
Thanks
Dave
Thank you Dave for the chance. The last time I did this I got in trouble with the wife.....
:banghead:
Thanks Bud and we will have to see what you all think. I feel that there are going to be alot of interests.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
Id be in....but its gotta be a lefty..... :(
i would love to try one. im a right handed. 50# at 28 should be fine for most.
Have ya talked to Rodney Wright? He passed around one of his bows and would have real life experience in this sort of thing. BTW...Rodney sent out a fine bow, and was a good guy during the whole ordeal.
And YES, I'd like to try a RH one.
Thanks,
Keith
I have a hitman longbow thats 58'' and 55@28. Very nice bow and is a real shooter, it's my hunting bow this year!!!
Andrew had to pull out his name because he is going to be deployed. So say some prayers for him and god bless him in his deployment. If dave19113 is interested you can be in the top 15 guys and be at the last of the list. I am going to be sending a right and left handed riser for this build. So everyone will have a chance whether right or left handed. I will need your addresses of everyone involved on the list. Please pm with your addresses so that they aren't public.
Thanks
Dave
I have the second limb in the oven now and looks as though tomorrow I will be working on the limbs to get them ready for limb caps and nock ends. The limbs should be around the 45-50lb range and have "mappa burl" veneers with bamboo cores. I can't wait to see what they look like as these are a new veneer I just picked up. Wait to see for pics.....
Dave
I would say 35-40#, right handed. That way everybody can shoot it. The quality can still be evaluated.
I wanted to see if 53-54lbs is to much of draw weight for this pass along? Give me some feedback and if so I will build a new set.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
Hitman...didn't read any post but yours...but from my experience from hope and faith...you will at least need 3 weeks for each person...a week to receive and ship...and two weeks with the bow....two weeks just wont work....IF they plan on actually hunting with it. If its just a 'try and shoot' two weeks might work.
Just my thoughts....like to see things like this on Trad Gang from Sponsors....its good stuff!
Thanks Terry that sounds like a great idea and I never thought about it. Let me know what you all think about the 3 weeks thing. Some will have it a bit longer than others but this way it will give you a chance to hunt with it or whatever you want.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
If you're looking for just a test two weeks is good for me. If you want a field test, three weeks is better, but, I will not have any big game to hunt in my area after Christmas unless I can find someone with land inside the municipalities that allow hunting after gun season ends Jan 1.
53 is a good weight for me to try.
I will see what the majority would like to do. If you just want it for two weeks then send it out to the next guy in line. I will have a list with addresses for the next guy in line.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
Ok folks I have the two risers that are ready and limbs for spraying. The final specs are 53# @ 28". It is on the lighter of the 53# and AMO 62". There is matching limb caps and nock ends with "mappa burly" veneers bamboo cores. I didn't go with the green/grey handle do to the limbs just wouldn't look good. So I built a matching right handed riser to match the left hand one. The only difference is I switched around how the half moon is where you hold and long moon is out by the limbs, plus I used black phenolic to seperate the woods as well. You are all going to have to wait to see it, or should I just post some pics once the spraying is done? It is smooth bow and fun to shoot. Spits and arrow really well hits em hard.
I forgot to mention that who ever hasn't pm'd with there address it is going to difficult to send you the bow. I will have a flyer in the box with next available persons address.

I will have a right and left handed riser with some differences to show options that are available. I believe you will all enjoy it and have some fun. Leave some feedback on ideas, concepts and possible new looks if you have any. I am always open to new ideas.
Thanks and good shooting,

15. sawtoothscream
rounds out the 15 people.
Thanks
Dave
Dave19113 is out and going on a hunt trip and good luck to him. So if one more guy is interested let me know. I will be shipping on thursday to Trojanman.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
Sounds good. Can't wait to give it a try. Thanks again for doing this Dave.
Trojanman,
You are the first on the list and will ship this week to you.
Thanks and enjoy the journey
Dave
Looking forward to this chance to test drive a hitman longbow.
check out the new topic I started showing the bow and accessories. I hope you all enjoy this bow as much as I had making it.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
BTT,I am lefty (don't see LH next to my name) also, are they going to be shipped together or are there 2 seperate lists for righties and the lefty shooters? Just trying to figure out who to contact to see if I can swap months with them to get teh bow during my private land hunt up north.
The bow is on its way to Trojanman and can't wait to get some feedback.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
My feedback is that is one gorgeous bow!
I can't wait Dave. I don't think I'll get it in time for deer season but I plan on making squirrels shiver in fear (or laughter) as I stalk them in Uwharrie when I get the LH one in my hands.
From the list, and if the final decision was a month per destination, Jay B has the month of Januarary. Jay B I sent you PM to see if you would trade months with me as I would love to take the leftie out on a hunt I have Jan 10-15. IF some else thinks they have the bow that month and is willing to swap slots please let me know.
thanks
Gio
To Dave, and all,
Swap fisherking73 and me please. Deer season will be out for me so I'll take it to the 3d circuit around here when I get it. Maybe more eyes and tests shots from others that way.
I'll take it later in the passaround.
BUd
Thanks alot, hopefully the dates work out and I get her for the dates of my big hunt! Not a guarantee, but atleast you tried and I really appreciate it. First 2 weeks and a few days (hunt is over on 15th and will ship out to next in line as soon as I got back from hunt) Gives me a week to get familiar with this beautiful bow. Hope this works out!!
Good to here fisherking73, these guys here a great group and all the best in your endeavors.
Dave
I am adding to the list as I pm Keith and asked for his address. So actually Keith should be number 15 and apologize to sawtoothscream. All this stuff and I forgot the numbers.
My apologies and hope all understand.
Thanks and good shooting,
Dave
I should of mentioned to sawtoothscream that you will be the last guy on list even thought you are 16.. All the things that go into this so I apologize to everyone in involved.
Thanks for the understanding,
Dave
