What would be a good bow for a ten year old girl that is about three inches shorter than her class mates? Something that she would not out grow for a few years, would be good for a few years and still not be too long or heavy for her to learn with, although she may have a growing spurt. Hopefully something that I can pay for mostly by selling off a right hand recurve or two. She is a welcome addition to my growing but happy extended family.

Lawrence............
I have two very nice(new) R/D longbows that would fit that young lady just fine. I would be happy to give one to her with some arrows FTYD.
Way to go James, :notworthy: :campfire:
I will accept, but I would really like to do something in return. As I have explained in a PM we have taken a financial hit lately and I am not a 100% yet. I was not expecting such generosity. I will say this if you met little Autumn you would fall in love with her, just like we did.
:clapper: Awesome!
That is brotherhood!!
Thats what it's all about. :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Check out Chuck Jones and Black Rhino http://www.bows.net/blackrhino.htm
Black Rhino bows are some of the best for kids.
Indestructible and good shooting bows.
yes, black rhino (http://www.bows.net/blackrhino.htm) is another excellent selection of young'un bows.
My eight year old daughter shoots a maddog, great bow.
James, that was above and beyond. Well done.
I was going to suggest Mike at Maddog, however on seeing James' generous offer it would seem redundant. Way to go James, I just love this place.

I hope your daughter, Autumn enjoys this little bow as much as I did building it. I shipped USPS at 1:20 PM today, estimated delivery 10/25. Here is a pic of the bow she will recieve:

:clapper: AWESOME!!!! This place NEVER ceases to make me smile daily....I've said it before and I'll say it again, I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Thanks James for helping yet another child get into traditional archery.
That just made my day.
Rob
Ooh it's pretty! She is going to love it~Thank you so much!
that is impressive, I know someone that could use the adult version. Do you make them for sale? Those look super.
What a nice shooting bow for her! She loves it and was so happy she had tears as she shot the first arrows, she said it was the wind, but I think it was more than that. ;) I'd love to post her picture but I'm not seeing how to do so. Dad has the pics I took today and maybe he can post one for everyone. :) Huge thank you and big hug from Autumn to James!
I'd have to opt for a vintage "Little Bear" or "Panda" in an appropriate weight.
Some of the mid 60's Little Bears are real gems and the price just keeps going up.
Nice follow through for the first shot. I think this is 640 x 480

Awesome all around.
I am waiting to get some day two pics, so we can see the quick development of her form. so far she has only had pics of her first three shots, but things improved very quickly and there was some serious target sticking going down.
Too cool!
photo bucket is not working with me today for some reason. But I finally got it working by doing the same thing over and over again. (http://i872.photobucket.com/albums/ab283/pavanldb/IMG_2983.jpg)
Probably an easy answer (maybe dumb question)......What does "FTYD" mean?
freight to your door, I was hoping to get one of her perfected form, but the weather was not helping I guess for it to be a bow shooting day.
Apparently Autumn's grandmother is not happy about her shooting bow and arrow with the rest of the family, so she used her influence to keep Autumn away for today. Whether it is jealousy or just the old thinking that girls should not hunt or fish, I cannot say. However, she will learn that girls can paddle canoes as good as men, there are thousands of girls on high adventure canoe trips every year. Autumn loves canoe tripping already and already has shown that she has the right stuff to be an outdoors girl. I would bet that the average percentage of women and girls with traditional bows is at a higher ratio than that of guns or modern archery gear compared with boys and men. Eventually, the gramma will learn that she has not lost anything. I take this as a temporary jealousy caused hiccup. More photos to come. She is really proud of her new found skill.
Makes me smile!!!
FANTASTIC....
What a beautiful bow, and a quick study.
Having a 6 year old girl, it is great to expose her to the outdoors fishing and hunting, I'll let the chips fall where they may.
Great form... :saywhat:
