Well, between work, my sons football and my daughters play, I finally made it out today. I didn't get into the stand until 0930 but that's alright, had to get the kiddos off to school. You never know when somethin' will show up.
No deer, watched a coyote chase a field mouse for about an hour. Poor guy gave up and went away hungry. He walked away from me instead of towards me, he had a pretty coat and looked like a quiver to me.
All in all had a good few hours, got blown around by the wind and went home empty handed yet spirit filled. Just wanted to share.

hey at least you were out there! i cant imagine having to wait til now for my first hunt of the fall, but our seasons are a lot earlier...
Glad you were able to make it out. Coyotes are a great joy to watch.
Just a heads-up on the fur. If you're wanting a 'yote for a good quiver, it's best to let'em walk 'til at least mid November. December would be even better. The fur isn't near prime yet, at least where I'm at.
Hey thanks for the heads up ishoot4thrills. Not sure I'll see him again but if I do...

How much more successful can you get than having your spirit soothed and even better lifted.
I'm happy for you!
God bless,Mudd
Well you knocked the edge off now. Re-sharpen and get back out there.
Getting out is half the battle for those with busy schedules.
Good Luck.
Made it out once again, between 11:00 and 1:00 P.M. Constant wind and gusts up to 30 mph. I finally got to the point that I couldn't sit still I was so chilled. Didn't see anything but some geese and sand hill cranes.
Oh, also saw a "thinking of you" cardinal. The cardinal was my grandmother's favorite bird. I see one and think of her every time.
Need to get out at the wee hours of the morning me thinks...
