The gear for this season is ready to go for scouting and hunting come the 5th of November, ******** Titan w/ Blackmax limbs 53lbs at my 28.5 inch draw, beman 400 arrows full length with 5 inch vanes and snuffer ss and simmons Interceptor broadheads on the end (about 480 grains total).  Camo is Sitka gear 90% and a kelvin vest, and a Kifaru spike camp pack.

With a little over 2 weeks until season starts been scouting and hanging stands/ ground blinds.  The season i drew is a rifle tag (you can archery hunt during rifle here), I have one buck tag and one doe tag.  This season is great down by me and seeing 200 inch plus deer is a reality.   Here are a few that have been moving down.

The big cedar tree in the back left of the two bucks below has a stand in it, 12 yard shot!

Welcome back!  :)

Shooting sticks has been so much more fun for me the past 20-25 yrs with sticks than wheels...

But you have them memories of all those bull encounters! That has to count for something.

As C.Lamb is quoted to have said, Being there is good enough"

Now go have some trad fun for them big ole floppy ears!

More and bigger deer will move down in the next few weeks.  This is one of the bigger ones I was able to get on a cam from 2 years ago. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v683/wifishkiller/Colorado%20hunting%202009/PASTURE-11-10-09001.jpg)

Was able to get this guy the other night after scouting for deer.  Shot was around 13 yards on the ground.  He only went a few yards after the shot.  There are a ton of these around this year.  I also saw a black one but couldn't get him in range.

This morning we saw over 20 bucks and this crazy non-typical!  He is the number one on my list and my dads.  The picture doesn't do him justice, that drop is at least 10 inches long! Tomorrow can't get here soon enough.

Got to the stand around 130pm, cold and snowy for the first few hours.   (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v683/wifishkiller/posted%20pics/298070_2312182562853_1198076584_32155571_154411462_n.jpg)At 4 the first does showed up but couldn't get a good shot so I let them walk.  At about 5 I hear a bunch of deer coming down the ridge.  Pick out a big one at 25yards and pick a spot on her chest and let her fly.  Found this where she was standing.

30 yards down the draw, she was piled up!   (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v683/wifishkiller/posted%20pics/IMG_2017.jpg)

Saw a few small bucks this morning, we need the weather to clear up a bit lots of deer bedded up.  We should have a break in the weather starting tomorrow.  Going to hit a ground blind tonight, will see if a good one shows up.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

It was nice of you to let your Dad have first crack at that buck. I believe your number should be up next. Time to show him, and the rest of us, how it's done. Good luck and looking forward to the future posts. Congrats on the doe. too. Nice shot!

Thanks guys for the kind words.  Yea been trying real hard to get my dad his first big deer (over 170) we've been on a bunch and honestly had more chances at big to giant deer then we deserve!  My dad lives up in Denver so he doesn't get the same chances I get down by my house.  I have big deer in the yard most days.   I'll be more then happy taking any buck, although I wont punch the tag on a little guy until Saturday or Sunday!
