Title: What a week, 2 stalks in 2 days, horn and pics this time

Yesterday I told you about my Coyote Stalk, today I spotted a nice buck, and with my previous success to fuel my confidence I went after him. Made it to within 17 yards, took my shot when he stood, he spun and I did not hit where I intended but here are the results.

That is a real accomplishment to stalk within 17 yards of a buck like that!  Congratulations!

thanks guys, no not using one arrow, had one arrow left. I have killed a few others trad,this is by far my best. and you gotta love those dumb animals    :D

I was shooting a Big Jim Thunder-child 56 inches long 58@28 gold tip arrow and Bear razor head with bleeder blades.

Just regular boots, wet ground, some wind and moving a foot at a time. I watched his rack stick up above the briers for probably 45 minutes while closing the last 25 yards. it has taken a long time but with some age I am finally developing some patience.

You've done very well! 2 great stalks and made the shot when you needed to.

I've been on the ground this season and although I've come close, I haven't had a shot yet.

You've pulled it off twice so far. It can't be luck!!

Ain't it grand when it all comes together?!!  :)

I bet the ole pumper was clicking away them last yards under 25, huh!   :eek:  

On the few occassions I've had even a glimmer of such a chance, I find I'm spending 1/2 my energy trying to keep it together and not just explode INSIDE...the other 1/2 focusing on the ground, critter and the stalk! Usually at the last li'l bit, something goes awry...

But what a RUSH! Congrats...memory for a lifetime right there!
