Great news !! here in Europe those broadheads have lot of lovers!
That's shocking news! :readit:
Uh oh, can't wait to see what improvements your diabolical mind can conjure up.
Outstanding! Grizzly broadheads are way too good to just let them die, especially if we have a choice of left or right bevel.
Thank you!
Thank goodness. I can now stop rationing my last few grizzlies.
Wow maybe we'll get Grizzly heads with some Zipper Flair, cool.
Well shucks... Now I'll have to pay tax on them!!
Congrats! Hope the transfer and setup goes smooth. Gonna need to buy more soon!!!!
cool !
Good luck with the new endeavor
Didn't see that one coming !!! :biglaugh: Good Luck with the new business !!!
Bill

Good job! Those heads deserve to be in the hands of a business person.
Sounds like a wise choice as there always seems to be a demand for them. You're putting Mt. Orab on the map (again).

Hey Bill
That's great!
Way to go, Bill!
:readit: :saywhat:
That's great news! Just when I was ready to move from my RibTeks to Grizzley, the supply dried up. :( Remember, right around 75% of shooters shoot left wing! :D
Congratulations and good luck.
After so many threads about single bevel and Grizzly bh in the specific it was a little frustaiting to don't be able to buy some,I am sure Bill will be able to handle the business in the best manner. The company owned by a so avid trad hunter and bowyer can't be in better hands.
once again good luck,I'll be on line for my BHs.
Cool! Zipper ain't a bad name for a broadhead - I can think of all kinds of sloganeering.
Just need a line of arrows and you'll be full service. :bigsmyl:
Ed
Nice just wish the Magnus bh line along with all the others they made would start to become available again.
Thats awesome. I was really worried that the head would disappear. Its tough to find a good head that is reasonably priced. I have high hopes

Great news, I love my Grizzly's! Glad I don't have to worry about never being able to get them again
Way to go Bill, now Tracy can get that third job you wanted her to have...
So what exactly happened with how they just dropped off the map?... Did the guy in PA just get away from it? Or was there a $ issue?
I might know a guy who can finally show me how to sharpen a Grizzly broadhead. :D
Bill
Great news, thanks :clapper: :clapper:
Bill
I saw your post on dangerous game and was wondering what you were up to. Good for you.
Its gonna be an up hill battle for the next few months but I believe we can do the business justice. Its deffinately gonna be an interesting challenge for a while.

Wow! I go away for a day and missed the great news. A belated thank you for once again bringing the Grizzly line of broadheads back into the fold.
Hope they can stay in the same price neighborhood. That is a big appeal to these heads. Tough and not too expensive.
Good job Bill! Hope to buy some from you in the future.
Bill,
That is awesome news. These are the only heads my family shoots. I have one request. The newer version were better than the first kind with the bevel ground close to the edge. My request is that you grind the bevel all the way to the edge. It would make it a lot easier to sharpen the heads. I think a lot of folks here would pay a bit more for heads that were close to hunting sharp and just need a bit of work.
I will make a commitment to buying 2 dozen heads in left bevel EL Grandes when you post they are ready for sale. With a follow on order of 2 dozen more once I get the first set sharp. My family shoots in broadhead only 3d Shoots from time to time so we need to have a lot of broadheads around.
I am aware that there are some improvements to be made. Although, most of these improvements are minor, this too will take time. I am glad to see that many of you care enough about these broad heads to suggest ways to improve them and I do appreciate that.
I also see there is some speculation on major price increases and all the gloom and doom that goes along with such assumptions. It will be necessary to increase the price of these heads. HOWEVER, at this time it looks like the increase will only be about $1 per broad head. I really had no plans of discussing prices at this time. The equipment is not even here and running yet, but it seems to me that it is necessary to stop some of the speculation.

Bill
Congratulations on the new adventure and thank you for taking it on. I'm sure they will be even better than before. You bows are fantastic and I'm certain your broad heads will be the same.
Congratulations! Sounds like alot of fun to me! The "unzipper", just sayin...
Bill ,Congratulations! The Grizzly is to good of a broadhead to go by the way side.Good luck in you new venture.

Great news Bill, I need to get some more. I'll look forward to doing business with you and Tracey. :clapper:
Ragnarok Forge,my sentiments exactly.I would be fine with the same coarse grind if it were just completed to the edge. This might knock off 75% of sharpening time.I have never been interested in paying for someone to get mine hunting sharp as I have to tune and practice with some and that's a waste of money.I have to sharpen them anyway but completing that bevel would be huge.I'll gladly pay more.
Some other improvements could be beveling the tanto and removing the curled edge of the stamped parts. On the new Grizzlies, that is mostly the rear edges and ferrule rim. These issues aren't deal breakers for me.They don't take long to fix.
The ferrules on the new Grizzlys are perfect and much improved over the old.I consider that big.It really helps with alignment.
Nobody raises prices more than they have to.Raise them to where they need to be.If it isn't worth your while to make them, those machines will go idle again and there won't be any Grizzlys for us to buy.Good luck with your venture Bill.
Can't wait!!!!! Good luck with the new venture.
well that explains why they didn't answer my inquiry about selling...lol
Bill, Very good news for all of us Grizzly shooters. Best of luck on your new business.
Congrats Bill and Tracy. That'll keep ya out of trouble. LOL
Mike

And the proStaff is the last to know! Congrats Bill and Tracy, I know this will be a tremendous addition to your business. Congratulations and good luck!
This is awesome news.
Great to hear, seems like a lot of the trad broadheads are going under.
I'm not much of a single bevel guy but I'd love to see them in double bevel.
Bill and Tracy wishing you well on this new venture. Hope all is well withyou both. MIKE
The construction of the Grizzly won't allow it to be double bevel.
Out of town for a few days and now find this. Very good news and I am looking forward to your production. Good Luck!!!
glad to hear they will be available again
Congrats on the new opportunity!!!
However, Bill it is not like you don't have enough to do all ready :readit: .....LOL
I wish you guys the best with the broadheads!!! I also can't wait to see some Zipper Heads.
SWEEEETTTT
Congrats Bill. I am looking foward to trying some out when you get them rolling off the conveyor belt!
Benjy

Bill
Thanks Bill!

Sounds like they have lots of supporters. I love them too and hope they will be around for a long time. Good luck.
Just shared a few PM's with Bill and he is going to PA tomarrow. Now I'm all pumped to get some new grizzlies. And to think I just ordered two dozen Ribtek's
Awesome news. Congrats to you both. Great people.
Great news... Now make them with the bevel finished and I'm back on board.
Hey Guys i guess you heard the word that grizzly is moving. I just want to give a little insight so hopefuly the rumor mill will go in the right direction. Back in 1997 i purchased the broadhead business from Jim Abel after the fire destroyed the business. At that time i was working at a ski area and had the warm months off to work on broadheads. In the following years i was able to purchase the ski area which is leased from the state. A couple years ago i was faced with a hard decision to make, i own a ski area with a lease that will end with the possibilty of not renewing, a chance to purchase another ski area a hour and half away, and redesign the broadheads to make them bevel on either said. The ski purchase looked like it wasn't going to happen so i redesigned the new grizzlies. A month later i was running another Ski area in New York which took all my free time away. Over the past couple years i have tried different ways to keep the broadhead business moving forward without any great success. I tried farming some of the work out and hiring people to work without any good luck. So now i have made the heart wrenching decision to sell the business and put it in somebodies hands that can make it grow and be commitied to it year round. i know i am making the right decision and am picking the right guy to put grizzlies on the map again. It' just hard to let go of something that is so close to my heart and i really enjoy doing. It was never about money problems-it had more to do with time and looking at my families future and right now that is in the Ski Business. In late July i started working out a deal with Bill Dunn to take over the business. i know he will do it right and make grizzly broadheads well and keep improving on them and work on them year round. I would also like to applogize to everyone for letting a product you love to use not be available, and not being good at customer service and taking care of business. It is not how i wanted it to be and for that i am sorry. I know Bill will do great things and am just as excited as the rest of you to see the improvements and changes. No i haven't sold my bows( they are just collecting some unwanted dust right now and hopefully my family and i will make it to some shows next year and actually shoot and not have to work.
shawn
Good luck to ya Shawn!
when I heard that Grizz broadheads were getting hard to get I got all I could, someday I am going to start using them again.
Awesome glad to hear the legend continues...can't wait to order some. Good luck in the ski business Shawn...seems you kept the grizzlies going the best you could.
To Shawn,
That is the best damn apology I have ever heard in my life!!! You had several legitimate reasons for delay. Heck, I don't even shoot grizzly's, but your explanation was spot on!!!!!
justin
Onya Bill ! I just bought some heads off you ... now I'll have to get some more ... nice going !
Shawn, thank you for pass your business to a very knowledge and capable person;I am sure Bill will honor tha Grizzly name and with his talent he will be able to improve them too.Good luck to both the parts! :clapper:
Good luck Shawn
good luck to both parties, look forward to grabbing the new grizzlys when in production...

Hi all,
I don't recall if this is my first post here or not (been an avid reader for some time and finally joined this past year), but I too have been a huge fan of Grizzly broadheads, ever since reading Dr Ashby's reports. Anyway, like many here, I was starting to think the few Grizzly and even fewer El Grande heads I had were all I would ever get. I finally found mention of Zipper Bows acquisition of these fine broadheads recently on another site and contacted Bill to see if this was true. Even though he's probably busier than a one-armed paper hanger, he took the time to reply back with answers to questions I posed. Since it's now January and he freely gave me this info I presume I won't be spoiling anything by passing on what I learned from him. So, here's what he passed on to me.
Q: I've been trying to find Grizzly El Grande broadheads for quite some time and just read on a trad site that you recently bought the company. If so, and I do hope so, I would like to know when Grizzly and Grizzly El Grande broadheads will be available again, if you can provide that info.
A: We will have 200 grain Kodiak (formerly called El Grande) broadheads by the beginning of Feb. We will have both left and right bevel.
Q: Besides the 200 grain Kodiak are you going to
produce any other weight Kodiak broadheads, such as the 160 grain that was in the El Grande line-up? Also, will the "regular" Grizzly heads be
in your line-up of broadheads? And lastly, do you have a price structure for these broadheads?
A: We will also have the regular Grizzly's. The weight on some of them have changed because of the improved grind. The 160 grain Kodiak was dropped because I was told there was not a lot of interest in it. IF that does not turn out to be the case I will gladly bring it back. Regular Grizzly's are $32.95/ 6 pack, the Kodiak's are $34.95/6 pack.
So, there you have it guys. I can't wait to get my hands on these new Grizzly and Kodiak heads. Many thanks to Bill for getting them going again.
Steve
"The 160 grain Kodiak was dropped" .. sure hope them bring it back .. that's the heads I've used for years. The 200 is just to heavy for my set up. :(
We will have broadheads at Kalamazoo.
Bill
I'm hoping the 160 grain Kodiak makes it back too as that BH, with a 45 grain aluminum screw-on adapter, works out great - perfect spine match and arrow flight - with my 29" Gold Tip Velocity XT-300 shafts. That combo gives me right at 500 grain weight total with almost 21% FOC. I think I could even push the envelope a little and use 75 grain steel adapters and not be much past optimal spine match.
