Has anyone looked at one of those predictor charts that plot when the peak whitetail rut will be?
If you go by moon phase, then about November 12th. Mid November is good about anywhere in the upper Midwest, but I bet they're starting to get active. Does just aren't ready yet. When they spend more time looking over their shoulder, watch out!

We don't have to worry about that this year. Since the Wisconsin DNR still thinks that there are too many deer, they have officially cancelled the rut in 2011 and maybe 2012 in hopes of bringing the numbers down. I believe it is on the Governors desk for signature.

I live in S. Ia. my favorite week to hunt is the 1st week of Nov.. Bucks are generally cruising looking for does. Not many does are ready at this time. I've had good luck with grunt calls and rattling . Latter when they start chasing does the calls dont work as good and they dont necessarily stay on the trails. Peak of the rut seems to be usually around 10th to the 15th of Nov.
missouri here i agree with soap creek stay in the woods from nov 1 till rifle season..the best time ever...yea the peak rut right in our rifle season..no wonder we don't have the big number of 5 to 7 year olds..all shot at 2 to 3 years old.. :banghead:
I generally prefer the second week of November...if I have to pick 1 week. To be honest...anytime in the first 3 weeks of November can be hot...and it varies somewhat from year to year. Your best bet is to hunt every day in November!
On all for that hunting every day in November may be when I retire. :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
A poll from last year had most folks wanting to be hunting the rut from Nov 6-11.
I'm on vacation Nov 3 till Nov.13. We will have to wait and see.

soap creek nailed it right on the head. That is the exact pattern of the deer. Best days Nov 1 through Nov 12th. It is then an guesstimate pattern until the last week in Nov again.
I usually try to be in the woods during the week that November 10th falls in which is when I have had most of my success. With that said, the last week in October can be hot also.
My wife's birthday is November 9th. The single best day to hunt is November 9th. I married her so I wouldn't have to remember 2 different dates :)

Too funny but ufortunately kinda true!
I'm going to Kansas to hunt Nov 14-18th but would have liked to go a week earlier. In hindsight it worked out better since i have to wait until next week to start shooting my bow again after my surgery. Can't wait to shoot again.
