I'm thinking of mounting up some old Bear Razor heads, and was wondering if I should use the Bleeder blade or as a two blade head/
Shooting a 43lb Hybrid Longbow?
Mitch, skinny shafts, no bleeders and file sharp
I shoot them w/o the bleeder. I've had good luck so far on both deer and bear. The only other head I hunt with is stone. Good Luck!

I glue a 100 grain steel adapter in them (220 grains or so without bleeders) and they hit with authority. One of the easiest heads to sharpen too. The bleeders are are made to shear off if to much resistance is encountered. Don't think you can go wrong either way.
Shooting 43#s will probably make you learn a new trajectory though. They really start sinking past 25 yards. with the front weight. I don't shoot them when I think my shots will be over 20 yards.
Use the bleeders.

Either way. They work however. I've used em quite a bit and had no trouble. Just put them in the right spot.
I've used them both ways.If you are sure you can always put them right in the rib cage, use the bleeders. If you aren't 100 % positive, use them as 2 blades. Both kill.
Before they were discontinued by Bear, when I used them I preferred a 2 blade configuration.
Sometimes in the 4 blade configuration, the bleeder blade detached inside the animal.
I can see where most folks like them without the bleeders but I killed my first traditional deer with a 43# recurve and I used a cedar shaft tipped with a Razorhead complete with bleeders and got a full pass through.
I shoot the bleeders, passed through a bear and lengthwise in a coyote almost to the fletch.
Some people glue the bleeders on the head so they don't come out if you shoot a deer. I don't use the bleeders but can't notice any difference as far as how the arrow shoots.
the main reason i dont use the bleeders is for some reason i seemed to have better arrow flight without them.
while we are here and if Gator doesn't mind,, do any of you shoot the newer bear stainless versions?
Bleeders no..never used them. Love that broadhead without them!! I've had great performance from them.
