Well just as it says I have some muzzy phantoms and took the bleeders off what's your thoughts on it? Do they make that much of a difference?
Couldn't get Bears w/bleeders to fly right many moons ago. Flew perfect w/o combined w/penetration advantage I see no need.
I'm a 4 blade fan. I just seem to get better holes and bloodtrails...doesn't matter if it's a trad bow or a compound. I like the extra blades.
I like the phantoms without bleeders myself.
Never used Phantoms, but I agree with straitera on the Bears. I just like 2 blade heads though. I like the penetration I get.
If broadhead tunes well with both bleeders and without, then with bleeders on deer sized game and smaller, without for larger game. It has been shown that the muzzy phantoms penetrate better without the bleeders.
I would shoot the phantoms with the bleeders, if I wanted to shoot a two blade it would be something thicker like a grizzly or abowyer.

+1
My thoughts exactly!

Phantoms with bleeders will fly perfectly, penetrate just as well and give you better blood trails/quicker kills.
What are you HUNTING????
Leave them out if you are hunting BIG big Game....but put them back in if you are hunting whitetails. I won't hunt whitetails without multi blades.
If you can't get a 4 blade through a whitetail, you have other issues with your set up, or you jammed the shoulder socket.....and no 2 blade is guaranteed to go through that.
:campfire:
I agree with Terry. Whitetails are easy to blow threw even with lower poundage, but your arrows have to be tuned and fling straight. I don't see why a little old bleeder would cause poor arrow flight. And I use four blades all the time.
Yeah what are you hunting? What is your bow pounds at your draw?
I shot many critters with those a few years back. With my light 50lb bows I didn't like the drag those big bleeders created hindering my penetration even on a deer.
Put the bleeders on except for BIG game AND Pigs.
The multiblade would be better for pigs IF you could guarantee penetration, but penetration trumps bloodtrail when pig hunting IMO.
I much prefer 4bl heads for all game and choose my setups to give me the penetration I need with a multi blade head, just prefer the holes they put in animals but ensure I get complete penetration as well.
I'm shootin a 57# bow axis .400s around 535 total weight...
I would leave the bleeders in for any game in US with that setup.
Brandon......I'm in Calhoun.....look me up sometime.
I always use the bleeders with my old Bear Razorheads. They have always preformed very well.

You will be fine with the bleeders at that poundage. Now get you a KME so you can really get them sharp.
Has anyone ever tried a G5 montec 3 blade? I get good flight with those.
Those G5s are too snubby for me....not near as a penetrating design as a WW....and being powdered metal they don't sharpen easy, wont get as sharp, nor do they stay sharp.
I never tried their 3 blade...but fooled around in the back yard with one of there two blades....same powdered metal process.
