Instructions that come with the LW should be very helpful.  About the best advice I can give is to just set it up and practice while studying the instructions.  You have one of the best climbers out there and should enjoy it.

Sorry I cannot help more...

Practice with it a lot before you hunt from it, and always wear your harness!  I have a summit bushmaster, also a hand climber, and have been suprised by how tight/sore my abs feel after I've been up and down twice a day for three or four days straight! Enjoy it!

I use the straps when I climb with my LW.  But once I get situated I unclip the left one.  That way if I see a deer coming and I happen to be sitting down I can loosen the right strap and slide the seat to the side of the tree and out of my way in one easy motion.  But when I am sitting I leave the right strap a little snug so if I have to stand with the seat in place I won't accidently bump it and make it fall.

Clear as mud??!!

I did away with the buckle and sewed the strap directly to the top section. No banging the buckle anymore.I used lots and lots of industrial thread.

Climbing with the strap is a little slower as you can't take as big a step at a time.  Make the strap as tight as possible and you will get the biggest bite.  I actually prefer climbing without the strap most of the time by placing my weight on my forearms on the seat.  Requires more strength than climbing with the strap but both methods work well. It won't take you long to get the hang of it.
