Just put in the order for a new Big Jim Thunderchild..... Its a long way off so I figured to just put it in to get on the list. I was looking at wood types...
The Snakewood really peaked my interest... Does anyone have a bow made with it?.... I think Im going to keep it simple and do the whole bow in it. If anyone has pictures of it could you post please...
Thanks
Dave
Beautiful wood. Maybe somebody will post up their Blacktail Snakebit, that will give you an eye full. I agree on the wood choice, I've got a Snakebit on order...
Snag has at least one. Myrtle veeneers look really good with Snakewood as do Myrtle accents.
I have a 3pc Snakewood longbow Big Jim built with Macassar Ebony limb veneers.
Check it out on the Big Jim slideshow on his website.
He does build some beauties.
Not all "snakewood"........but enough to give you an idea.

Gorgeous bow...
Thats some amazing looking wood.
I have a Snakebit almost a twin bother of Don's,and since I loved it so much one more on order;then an old Custom Bighorn with some Snake wood insert in the Ramwood riser and a Silvertip on order with Snakewood footed with ebony.
Big Jims making me a Buff with snakewood riser and spliced cocobolo and snakewood limb veneers, should be done in 2 or 3 weeks he said.

This is one of Norm's creations. It is footed with a burgundy colored Wenge to go along with the colors in the Snakewood.
