Title: Back vs. Belly Mounted Limbs on a Take Down
Post by: mattpdx on October 07, 2011, 01:50:00 PM
Are there differences in performance or handling between belly or back mounted limbs?

Thanks from a newbie,
_mh

Welcome!

there are many different designs of both.
The limb design has a whole lot to do with it.
of course so does the riser design..more forward handle or less, the length..etc.

I'm looking at building a belly mounted takedown in order to get a more forward grip to add stability.

I thought I would like the added stability of the rear mounted limbs, but I don't like how it feels when I draw the bow. Go figure.... The only ones I shot like that were Black Widow's though. Maybe it's just that particular brand of bow that doesn't work for me. I AM NOT SLAMMING WIDOWS, just don't like the feel.
