I think this broadhead is full of Mojo.
It's gotten hot here again and there is a small pond on the farm I shot my buck on. Its the only water around for quit a ways. I went and checked it out the other day and sure enough I found a worn out dirt patch where they were crossing a fence to get to it out of a big wooded draw. The pond is situated at the beginning of the draw and the fence crossing to it is a funnel from you know where. With the whole next week calling for an East wind I found a great tree situated on the West side of the funnel just after the crossing. I left out after work tonight heading for my new hot spot. At 5:45 I hear deer coming through the dry leaves. Three does jumped the fence in front of me one after the other just as planned. The first two jogged to the pond right past me after leaping the fence. The third stopped like she was posing. Perfect quartering away shot at about 15 yards.

The arrow buried to the fletch and she took off. I knew there was no doubt about the shot so I got right down and went to look for sign. Here is what I found at the point of impact.

This is the arrow I shot my buck with. I would say the mojo in it is gone but the head is safe and sound. I did let out a big sigh of relief when I saw it laying at the shot spot. I sure didn't want to lose it.

About 10 yards down the trail I found this

Following the trail there was blood everywhere and about 60 yards from my tree I looked up through the bushes and saw the white belly we all love to see.

Those broadheads are wicked I tell you. It passed through her left lung went through the top of her heart and out the right leg. She snapped it in two when she took off.

Not going to push my luck with losing this special head. I am going to hand it down to Lowebow next time I see him. He is after some dandies and could use a little Mojo.
Good luck all and keep after them.
nice job, what kind of broadhead is it.

Bob, this one actually is fairly small for around here. I didn't weigh her so can't enter her in the contest, but she would be around 100-110 pounds field dressed. I shot one in '09 that pushed them down at 163 dressed (which is big for here). Here she was.

Our normal mature doe weights around me where they get LOTS of protein are 130-140ish. You can add about 40-45 pounds for the innards.
The big woods acorn/browse only deer here in KY will be on average in the 90-110 range.
Congratulations once again T.J...I'm guessing you are only 48" tall in real life and weigh 75# max...That's one fat MAMA"...One more question are you standing up behind that doe? :p
Congrats...on some nice animals
Keefer, I am 6'-8" and 304#. Haha

Congrats again Tom. I'm glad things are working out so well for you.I think you should hunt November with a video camera.Maybe over Lowebow's shoulder.I'll bet that would be interesting.
Bill
Not a bad idea Bill. Only hurdle would be he wouldn't want to expose his honey holes.
