He was sitting on the trail to my tripod....about 3 or 4 feet shy of my tripod. Glad it was an afternoon hunt.

One of my student did a six footer in Brooks Co. TX like that the other day.. cept he did not pin em in the middle... there was still some "strike" distance and a pissed worm...

Snakes! don't know what it is about them but two years in a row, while hunting nearly stepped on one
Killed a 6 ft'er last year while retreiving an arrow,almoost reached ot and touch him before I saw him.
We've got Plenty Tex rattlers Jeff! Least of which will make you jump through your own butt! Got to where I don't kill them anymore unless near the house. Must be getting soft?
I don't kill them either unless they're real close to where I want to be....like camp or under my tripod :)
