Title: FF String material for a cheapskate
Post by: Caleb the bow breaker on October 03, 2011, 08:18:00 PM
Hey all you string makers out there.  What would you guys recommend for someone wanting to make their own FF strings on the cheap.  There are tons of fiber options out there but I just want to get two spools (same material but different colors) to make FF flemish strings at home.  The idea is to have a good product without breaking the bank.

I use Dyneema 97. I use a olive drab brown and olive green, nice camo colors. I buy the 1/8# spools, D-97 is much smaller diameter than B-50. I get good speed, long life, and after initial  small stretch, that is it! Just MHO.

Both of my recurve bows strung with fast flight bowstrings which are comprised of 12 strands of Dyna97. Been using it now for three years.

I would also agree on the DF97.
