Title: Bow weight reduction
Post by: flinthead on September 30, 2011, 07:15:00 PM
Have a Dale Dye recurve that was 58lb @28 and was killing my sholders. Knew it was too strong when I bought it [used] , but it looked so awsome. It shot great.  Had it taken down to 52#@28 and the name removed. Seems like a new bow [and looks like one]. Thanks Whip.Flinthead.

I also own a fine example of Joe's (Whip) work. Biggie's old Bamboo Longhunter. Biggie slew about everything that walks, flies, crawls, or swims, from sea to shining sea with that bow. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't spear a few hogs with it along the way too.

Joe is a first class guy that does quality work in a timely fashion...and unlike some, he will communicate with his customers.

Yes - Whip does good work. I purchased a Bighorn at 70 Lb on the St Judes auction in 2010. Whip took it down to 64 for me. Very good workmanship. 100% happy.

Does not seem that a small amount like 58 to 52pounds [6 #] would make that much difference---but it seems to lighten the weight  by 1/3.These Dyes grip seem to fit like no other. Thanks , Roy
