Those little puff bottles full of powder. I refill them with corn starch after they are empty. They are more sensitive to air currents than anything else I have ever found. I never hunt without one any more.

I tape a piece of unwaxed dental floss to my upper limb, just a bit above the riser.  I fray about 2" of the end and it works awesome.

Wilk weed, puff bottle and a thread with a small down feather at the end attached to tip of my bow limb!  The mild weed or puff bottle I'll use when i'm sure I can get away with any movement! But the string/feather all it takes is a glance!

Like Chuck, I tie a piece of dental floss or thin string in my upper string loop and fray the end so it catches the wind better.  I also tie a six-8-inch piece of dental floss or string around my arrow shaft directly behind the broadhead and fray it. Like can, I'll use a small piece of bird feather or down on the end of the string if one is handy instead of fraying.  When on stand, I have an arrow nocked.  The string on my arrow, being just a little further away from my body, the tree I'm in, etc., often shows the wind direction a little better than the one on the bow tip.  The one on the tip, comes in handy while walking/stillhunting.

1) Thread or dental floss on end of arrow as Orion stated.  2) Baking POWDER in a puff bottle- works great.

Milk weed fluff here as well. That stuff just floats forever and is easy to see. It even drifts with the slightest thermal on calm days.

Cattail fuzz. I took an old prescription bottle and drilled a 1/4" hole in the cap. I stuffed it full of cattail fuzz and it is like a kleenex box. When you pull some out, more is pulled up so you can reach it. The fuzz rides the air currents and you can see it for a long ways. This is not my idea. I saw it in TBM if I remember correctly.

I use all 3 methods...unwaxed dental floss tied to my string, milkweed pods, and talcum powder in a puff bottle. I watch the wind very closely. The floss shows any immediate change, the talc helps you observe any swirling in the branches, and the milk weed pods show how the wind is acting further away from you.

i use a camera film can.  cut a small hole in the top and stuffed it with a few cotton balls. when you wand to know what the wind is doing just pull a little bit of fuz off and watch it drift out of sight. been using the same cotton balls and can for 3 seasons.

As a fly tyer I use the colored fuz/yarn used to make steelhead flys.  I have a little container that allows you to pull a small piece out like mentiond above as well as stuffing a wad of it into my pants pocket in the upper inside corner.  There is a little pocket there and most of my hunting pants have a wad of wind drift in them by the end of season as well as a handful of the little hair tie rubber bands I use for holding my arrow on the riser.  I am always finding both in the washing machine and dryer this time of year.

Not on ground but will work the same. I tie a 4" piece of white thread on the front edge of each of my stands. A simple glance down will tell me the direction. No movement needed to check. A ground hunter can tie on on the top or bottom limb tip or on a quiver.

Oops I see LV2HUNT said the same thing above. X2 Frank.
