I tried to sell or trade off some 4" parabolic feathers ( I have a lot of `em ) that I used for my compound when I had it. For some reason or another no one wanted `em. So i`m wandering if anyone shoots these off of their trad bows ? Heck, if I can`t get rid of `em I might as well use `em if they`ll work. :biglaugh:

thats all ishoot, they will work great for ya
Yep. A lot of us do. I prefer a 4x4" arrangement, but do have some arrows fletched 3x4".
sure, you've got the makings of some fine steerage in a nice 4" feather 4-fletch, either 90x90 or 105x75. i've used 4" nanner 4-fletch arrows to kill a few hogs, works just fine, lotsa steerage, so go fletch them bad boys up!

My favorite is 4"x4. Without a doubt.
4x4 here.
Rob
Thats all I shoot, work great for me at 3 fletch.
One more of the 4x4 crowd. Fletch them up and enjoy.
I use em, three or four fletch. I also like to mount them just a bit forward of the normal back end location on the arrow so they don't touch my nose on anchor, till I am fully back.

4X4 is what I use

4X4 here too.
4x4 also!!
4"x4 is all I shoot.
4x4 here too. Mostly shield-cut, but parabolic or nanners work just fine too.
3- 4" shield cut. Used to only use 5" because I thought I needed em for broadheads, but ya dont
That is what I shoot sometime 4x4 sometime 3-4" shield cut.
Wait, people use silicone fletching for trad bows? I didn't really think it was possible since it would make the arrow kick out and deflect from bouncing off the shelf.
I only use feathers. I wish they didn't cost so much more than the silicone.
I shoot 3 x 4'' helical. I'm very specific in what I shoot since I've been using a traditional bow for about a month, aka, I shoot whatever is in the box. :)
3-4" shield or parabolic, which ever I get the best deal on.

3 x 4" shield cut for me.
With properly tuned and designed shaft, my 1 1/2" three blades are consistenly on the mark.
My son shoots 4 x 4" parobilics on his rig. They fly great.
4" with a little extra weight up front works well for me
I like the X that you see on the side of a 3D with 4 4s. I've shot them for years....
I put six orange on a half dozen arrows , man they realy shine on a 3D target.
love the 4x4 also

No, he's talking about feathers, not vanes. Using vanes will give you terrible flight if you shoot off the shelf. You can get away with it if have an elevated rest. They are a lot louder, though.
I love 4" feathers!
4x4
4x4 parabolic 90 degrees. No matter how you grab them they are always nocked right and I only have to buy one color feathers.
Snag (David Lawson) made me a couple of dozen in 4x4 and that's all I want now. As above, always nocked right and fly great.
Another plus for 4x4 is that you get 1'' more feather for stabilization and 1'' less feather and shelf contact than you do with 3x5.
Rob,
I really like the looks of the 4" banana cut feathers. Did you buy them or cut them yourself? Or did you use a feather burner?
DaveP
I fletch my arrows with 4" feathers.
Man, this makes me happy :bigsmyl:
Many Thanks folks,

Virtually every day and sometimes two to three times a day.
I shoot 4-4" shields on almost all of my arrows, and 3-4" shields on some of my others. Good luck and safe hunting.

I wonder if I could re-chop these into shields. Nanners would be better but with the high part at back that`s outta the question.
