I have a 50# darton ranger that has a white back and is very lite in color on the wood. I have seen a few bows painted but I need to know how to prep it it get the paint to stick good and how do you camo one up. Mike
can I see some pics of some camo bows
Clean it good with Acetone, scuff it up with a green scotch brite pad so the paint will adhere, then paint it.....or.....send it to me and i'll make it look better than new again with a camo dip.

Here is how I did mine.
Clean it, than a coat of spray shellac.
Everything sticks to shellac. It is used often as a base coat primer over unknown or suspect finishes to assure adhesion of the top coat. Get it at the big box stores or ace.

Billy Shipp has the real deal. You want camo...he can give ya some good camo, better than new.
If you just want some shadows and aren't sure you what a paint job forever, I wax my limbs with a paste furnature wax. Then lightly add very thin puffs of color just to take the shine off. This finish will rub off but with a bit of work...Doc
