Title: spine question.
Post by: David Dumke on September 26, 2011, 05:55:00 PM
Im receive a new (used) bow soon and was thinking since its wooden it deserves no less than wood arrows.

My father recently asked me why I don't just make my own arrows since he's bought basically a woodshop from auctions and rummage sales. I have to agree with him, though I think ill start with blank shafts.

My question is, does the spine increase or decrease as you shorten the arrow? I've read some thing about it some where but I can't for the life of me remember the answer or where I read it.

Thank now I guess that leads to another question. Is there a general idea of how much per " it increases?

Pretty much 5# per half inch but it is not exact nor linear.
