Well, this weekend a friend of ours is coming down from MN to visit. We havent seen them in a while, and though it would be nice to give them a point before they leave. Both are some sort of green obsidian.

They look great! How long does it take to make each head?
I spend roughly 1 hr per each, somedays are better than others. Only been doing it for about 5 years, so I have a ways to go. But I've seen a large improvement from last year to this year in my skills. In another 5 years they may be good enough to sell.
Real nice.
those look good.
Beautiful!!!

Very nice! You should think about posting photos of one from start to finish. I've always admired those with the ability to shape stone into such a precise tool.
If I could do that it's all I'd shoot.

Thanks for the kind words gents. Its not hard to learn how to knap, you can learn it all in about 4 hours. It is perfecting your technique that takes about a ton of rock (literally) to get right.
from so il too, job well done, where do you get your rocks
They look nice to me!
Thanks for sharing.

Brock, we quarry our rock from OK, we buy/trade some, and once in a while we stumble across a few pieces here. The gentleman who tought us how to knap has over 10ton at his place that we have access too...flint, obsidian, and glass
