Now why did you go and do that Highcountry? Thanks, I guess I am photo challenged! It was a fantastic fall for sure.
-
Very nice!!!
-
Because I knew you wouldn't do it! If I had the picture of your boy with that huge bear he shot, I would of stuck it in there too! Were just putting a big pat on your back. You make it look easy. Well, I guess it is easy for you old master. :archer2:

Congratulations on some great hunts!

Congrats Grizz and son.
-
Too cool Highcountry, thanks for posting. The old guy (Grizz, my Dad) is quite the mentor and an artist, especially when it comes to building bows. We each managed to arrow an elk (mine was of the no-antler type) and a bear (that's me in the pic above). He built me a new bow this summer and I was anxious to put it to use-- two arrows and two animals; can't beat that! I can't wait until javelina season and to start the next chapter...

Congrats to both,great animals.
-
Congratulations, on 2 great trophies. Your season has been fantastis allready.
-
Hello VIG, I thought you were out of the country traveling at the speed of sound? Yup, your Pop is one in a trillion. I can't wait to go up there and see him. I still attempt to make arrows as beautiful as his but still not close. You take care of yourself & crew.
-
Congrats!
-
So, are those Colorado bears and elk? How bout that avatar buffalo? What's the story on all of them?!?
-
Okay Boys, Steve O's questions are all yours! :readit: I am just here to stir the pot. Grizz is a little shy, we might have to poke at him a bit.
-
Wow, two big bears !
-
Awesome animals!
-
Thanks guys, the avatar is from Oklahoma 2005, the rest came from colorado this fall, public land, rough to get into, within a few miles from home for me.A very low density area for sure, I saw 5 elk in 16 days, but I won't say how many bears! You can hear them at night "exploring" around camp, leaving their calling card as proof. Yes it is exciting.
-
wow those are impressive bear. Any details on their size? I ask as I and my wife are heading to Alberta in the spring to try for a monster black bear.
-
Great season.
Congrats  :clapper:
-
As far as the bears go, we had to quarter both for hauling, and after a week in the cooler Joes bear quarters were still over 200 pounds total. Mine didn't get weighed. The head and hide (green) made for one load. Both bears were taken with Grizzly Longbows, I used doug fir shaft and a wensel BH. Joe used an aluminum shaft 2117, and one of Blake Fischers heads, 2 blade. Both were very effective combinations.
-
Holy Bears!!! Congrats on a heck of a fall. Joe
-
Congrats Mike! Looks like more material for another book!
-
:clapper: Great critters congrats Mike.
-
Congrats on your nice kill this fall Elksong. I know your just over the hill from here, is it Silt? Yes the boys have been compiling more stories for another book, I hope you enjoyed the last one.
-
Yep! The big Metropolis of Silt! LOL! I did enjoy the book. It was a fun read for sure, especially Dan's stories!
-
Yes that Dan! He is the outlaw of the bunch (kidding). He will be back here to live for a while next week, his job allows that kind of freedom. I like it cause it gets my work done easier and I have a hunting/fishing pard all the time.
-
I didn't know you write too Mike? Looks like I need to get a new book. Sure hope to see you and your wife at the high country shoot this year. Congrats again on some great animals this year
-
Nice job fellas!!!
:campfire:
-
Outstanding.
-
I missed you this year at CTAS Ryan, I bet I'll be able to come up with a story or two for ya next time. Lately I have been leaving the writing up to the boys, they have had some great adventures for sure. The "Danimal" (Dan) I know for sure is putting his part together for a new book. We had enough excitement this fall for several chapters, I know my diary got way behind.
-
Sweet! I look forward to swapping some stories next year you bring the elk steaks :) Take care Bud!!
-
Very cool, those are just HUGE bears!!!
-
Nice Job! :clapper: :clapper:
