Which limbs are easier to draw longbow or hycurve? I am being told that these bows are so smooth that they feel 2-4# lighter than most bows at the same draw weight. Does that apply to both style limbs? The guys that are telling me that have longbow limbs, but my experience (with other others) has been the recurves have been smoother.

I have the Hycurve limbs; one pair of bamboo core and the other triple carbon. The boo limbs are 60" and the carbon are 62". Because the lengths differ I can't compare them -- they are also about 4# in draw weight heavier.
Both are smooth drawing all the way to my 26" draw at least and I can compare them to several bows. I can't contribute to the LB question because my quarters are curve only.
The Habu limbs are great. However, the Habu riser and grip are AMAZING! This bow feels like a slim metal riser to me but in beautiful cocobolo.

The triple carbon Hycurve is slightly smoother than the already very smooth LB triple carbon limbs. Also, it may be possible that the Hycurve may be slightly more forgiving due to the increased preload at brace.

Don't know if carbon improves smoothness.
Carbon adds stability and is twice as stiff laterally, yet weighs half as much as fiberglass.
There are others that can precisely provide accurate info here on TG. Bowyers would be the prime resource.
sounds like it would make a difference in weigth and speed. Smooth pull same with either?

I avoid this dilemma because I simply won't consider uncurved limb tips. It doesn't matter to me if the LB limbs are smoother, quieter, or faster. I've drawn a somewhat arbitrary line in my mind that keeps the LB at bay.
It is purely an aesthetic choice for me. Nothing rational about it. Maybe it's a little bit because back in 1984 or 85 my boss's boss (at the time) declared I'd be a longbow shooter some day. Nope!
I think I will prefer recurve as well, but people seem to really like these longbow limbs.

Would not attempt to persuade you in anyway other than to make it a priority to try before you buy.
For me personally, the grip is my 1st priority. Having a grip that both you and the bow act as one, will significantly enable the facilitation of achieving the bottom line -excellent shot execution. Cannot discern any personal accuracy improvement whether utilizing LB or recurve limbs, just a different shooting experience.
I haven't owned a set of carbon hycurve limbs but do have carbon longbow and have had several sets of glass hycurve limbs(which I perfer).
The longbow limbs are 60'' and are smooth drawing and shooting limbs(for the length).I've owned Chris's first generation and second generation glass hycurve limbs.If Chris went back to his first generation hycurve design and add carbon?
The smoothness,stability,and speed of his bow should be amazing.
