Just wondering who shoots their arrows at full length? Thinking about trying gap shooting. Does anyone seem to think the longer arrow is a plus, or shoot just as well at shorter lengths? I do shoot 3 under as well. Thanks!
I tried full length arrows but didn't like all that arrow sticking out there. Made me really notice my broadheads.

I shoot full length due to my draw length, I also shoot instictive. As far as the gap shooting I never needed to shoot long distances (25 being max).
I have never shot gap but my thinking would be that the longer the arrow the shorter your point on would be and as far as which would be better long or cut to lenght, it wouild not matter because you would set your gap acording to the end of your arrow no matter what the lenght would be. Again i have never shot gap so take all the above with a little salt.
I shoot full length arrows due to my draw length, dont really have a choice.
I like the extra weight.

I shoot full length cause I like the extra weight and I don't have to have heavy as broad heads. I like to be able to run down to the sport shop and buy heads., I can only find 125 grain here. I do use brass insert for extra weight.
I shoot 3 under and it does bring the arrow closer to the point of aim. I don't gap shoot consciously, but I do see the arrow in my perifral.
The same as Red4arm.

I shoot full length. The added length helps me see the point and gets my point of aim to about 25 yds or so. A shorter shaft pushes the distance of point on further out.
I shoot full length arrows on my current bow because thats how they spine (tune) for my bow.
I got caught up it the mentality of they have to be my draw plus 1 inch to be correct and struggled for an entire season getting good arrow flight had several shafts that were cut too short that I couldnt use. So now I let the arrow bow tell be what length I need.

I just bought some Victory shafts with the intent of making a EFOC arrows they are 6.7 gpi so I started out with the full 31" shaft screwed in some 250gr points and they fly like darts I think I'll leave them alone
I'm same as T Folts. I'm shooting full length because they are tuned at that length with the head I am using. I don't really like all that arrow out there but I like the heads I am using so it is a trade off.
The main reason I switched to full length arrows was what Cherokee Scout said - it makes my point on 30 yards instead of 50. This allows me to have the arrow on the animal from 20 yards to 35 - at 20 my point is in the corner where the front leg joins the body, 25 yards I'm about 4 inches high, 30 dead on and 35 up around the back. I still focus on what I want to hit but in my secondary vision I place the arrow based on the yardage.
It took me several months of practice to be able to shoot the longer arrows as I had a tendency to shoot low due to many years of shooting shorter arrows.
When I switched to full length arrows I also noticed my left to right arrow placement is much better with the longer arrow - prolly because my gap is so much smaller when using the longer arrows allowing me better left to right alignment of my arrow in my sight picture....
I shoot full length arrows because it is easier! HAHA. Seriously though, I seem too get better flight with longer arrows and I like the additional weight.
Thank you all for your input! :wavey:
