this bows all look pretty similar to me could someone tell me how the are different and the advantages and disadvantages of each one. Thanks in advance :)
I've owned all but the Fox and the big difference is limb design.Wallace has wide limbs,Blacktail not as wide,and the stalker narrower yet.The Stalker is a little more streamline and dosen't use overlays to cover the limb bolt fixture as Blacktail.
All great bows but I seem to favor the Stalker's grip.
The "thickness" through the grip is the biggest difference to me.......Blacktail being the thinnest, Wallace being a little thicker and the Stalker being even thicker. They all shoot very well and are made by excellent bowyers. The only Fox bow I have owned was a one piece Royal Crown and the grip just wasn't "full" enough for my taste.

As I understand the history, both Wallace and Johnson (Blacktail) were students of the late Jim Brackenbury. There are strong similarities b/w those 3 makes of bows yet each is a bit unique and special.
I have played with a stalker a couple times. I have not shot a Fox.
I am not able to comment on the adv/disadv of the bows. I just know I shoot the Blacktail and Wallace well. They both seem to fit me and my shooting style (such as it is).

I believe that Ron Fox (Fox Bows) and Charlie Bisharat....spelling on that doesn't look right but he was the original owner of Stalker bows also spent some time working with Jim Brackenbury. I would have to say that IF you shoot any one of these bows well that it would be safe to say that you can shoot the others fairly well also.......IMHO.

I sure do like the "Hope" bow and would recommend a stalker to someone after a great bow. Never shot the others so can`t comment on them.RC

I have read in an older T.B.M. Feb/March 2003 that Ron Fox learned to build bows from an old gentleman in New Mexico..I didn't know if you were aware of that? Ron did spend much time with Jim in his shop and sure ideas were shared but Ron experianced with his own designs...I'll admit all those bowyers mentioned do make a bow that look simular in the design and are all great bows...I have a Fox High Sierra and the Stalker line of bows look much like it and Matt all those bowyers make a great bow and I cann't compare them cause all I have shot are the Fox bows from the list mentioned ..... Most the bows you asked about don't show up much on the classifieds and if they do they disapear quickly...
