Well yesterday I should have been out of the deer woods by 7:00 am. :scared: She actually broke my Ace tipped Sitka Spruce between her front legs running.Turns out that 15 yard shot was actually 20. Guess I was counting my backstraps before they were made. :banghead: That's right sports fans even ole bentpole misses once in a while :biglaugh:
I bet she broke your arrow on purpose! Congrats on the hunt, you will get her next time.
Well at least you got out on a nice day, and you'll get her next time.
It will happen for you. Pick a spot. Mike.
Way to Go buddy... those Mohawks are really seeing some action this week across the country....

A shot with a clean miss is better than a wounding shot or no shot at all.
Congratulations!!
God bless,Mudd
Closing the deal is only a small part of the equation. Getting close enough is the trick. You did the hard part Bent, Congratulations!
Just means you get to shoot another arrow! Doesn't sound like a bad thing to me!
Glenn
I'm betting that your arrows were still waterlogged after all the recent flooding. The extra weight of the arrow has to be what caused the shot to go low. :readit: Set those shafts out in the sun to dry today! :biglaugh:
Ron
If you weren't Catnapping and quickly trying to rub the sleep out of your eyes....
At least your season is starting out with some action Stiffrod...good luck pal and drop a nice one.
Missing is all the fun and none of the work. And no sleepless nights. Sounds like a great hunt to me.
Hey Ron, if I was in the same shape as I was that day we shot at Whittingham :goldtooth: Scott and Skipper we have to do a hunt soon! We have to get Mikey out of God's Country and organize a Tri-State Terrors Hunt !
geez, tom, i thought mohawks are s'posed to correct human miscalculations of distance and trajectory?????
Rob, I think Vince only builds that into his Sparrowhawks. :goldtooth: :jumper:
That's why they call it hunting and not shopping lol. At least your seeing them, good luck.
Be honest you really didnt feel like dragging it out...LOL Better to have missed now than when the big daddy comes around, now that its out of your system fill the freezer!
Hey Tom, glad to see someone is taking advantage of the early season around here. It's been a little too warm for me but the last few days have gotten me thinking about getting out.
You'll get her next time!!
Better luck next time old salty dog.
The ones that have never missed simply haven't been at it long enough. Keep flingin'.
We will get them next time out Tom.
:)
 :archer:
Tom, good to hear you got out. I took a doe saturday night and had the mosquitos carry it out of the woods for me.
Good for you Denis! :clapper:
Glad you're gettin that bow out in the woods a little Bentpole.......be lookin for some pictures and stories. :campfire:
Ok Vince, I'll see what I can do. :knothead: Might have to take the Black Freak out soon. :notworthy: I sat this morning didn't see a tail. Vaughn get out early in the A.M. stay in until 9:30 cool enough Brother!
Keep after them, Tom.
You know I will Patrick! :saywhat: :archer:
Bring that Thermocell Stiffrod...I noticed after Irene hit with all that standing water and saturated ground, skeeters are on the warpath. Never had any here until the storm. Good luck this weekend...put a nice one down.
Skipper, I was off today because of lack of work. In my climber in the dark. Hunted until 10. Didn't see a tail. Squirrels and chipmunks. I think I swatted 1 sketter this morning, not to bad. I have to work this Saturday. No matter, supposed to rain cats and dogs until Saturday. Just what we need. I will get out Sunday for a few hours though. Stiffrod.
I would say its the bow but its proven that Mohawks don`t miss on their own...I should know i`ve helped one miss a few times.RC
