Well, I wish I can say I filled a tag today, but no matter, what a great day! I had a nice buck working my way at 6:30 am and then he just eased his way munching acorns away from me. Latter in late afternoon, I was blessed with a first year horn and young doe eating acorns vigorously for 20 minutes right in front of me. I watched them, I practiced getting to full draw undetected they moved on and investigated a scrape. It was not until the buck stood for a bit at 5 yards form me that he grew nervous and he ambled off taking the doe with him. 2 hours later a lost fawn was balling to momma and she answered with subltle grunts. I never saw them, but listening was awesome. So, as the last of the shooting light fadded away, I snuck out of the timber and returned home. What an awesome opening day!
Bob.

It is the subtle events like that makes the woods so special. This is what I love about this site and traditional guys, we cherish the little things....
Bob I'm glad you enjoyed your hunt.
A successful hunt doesn't always include the letting of blood.
God bless,Mudd

Sounds good to me......I can't wait.
Won't find that magic on the couch watching Oprah. Good stuff Bob.
That's how 95% of my hunts go and I just love it!
Nice day, Bob.
I guess experiences like that keep us going back.... Good hunt!
