I think some of you remember this pic from 12-15-10. Well I never got a shot at this guy and he disappeared.

Me and longbowben have been looking to put another stand in a saddle about 100 yards from where those pics were taken. I hung a stand on Tue. off a bean field and I threw one of my homebru IR cams(hence the pink pic)in there. Checked cams today and lookie what I got. This is definately off the same gene pool as the buck from last year. Even has the little kicker on the G-2 on the right side(left side in pic). I'll take daddy or son. This latest pic was taken at 1645. Plenty of daylight.

Wow!
:scared: Holy Cow! That's some Gene Pool for sure! 2 hogs on camera. Wonder if the first is still around?
nice, nice buck. hope he wanders by in range!
Wow, lots of tine length. Good luck hunting those two studs.
Seems like you could be looking at the same deer.... Think?
Getting a sticker in the exact same place is amazing odds.....
He looks mad to me!!
Gonna let him grow another year? ;) :D

He's going to be madder when a 160 snuffer deflates his lungs. Lol

Thought so at first, but the body size this year is smaller.

Ahhhh, NO! Didn't take long to think about that one.
I should say, unless I see the big 8 we've been after the last couple years. Then I might let him go.
2nd thought, nah, he will get an arrow if given the opportunity. Hate to shoot a young deer like this. But he has a heck of a rack.
I don't know, but I'd say that is the same deer. A thickened out winter coat will add some pounds to him.
what a beautiful deer!!!
Same deer or not, take him out!!!
Wow, great frame!!!
N soture if its just the angle but it looks like a 400+ inch deer! lol!
Very nice one - whether he is the same deer or not. Be nice to have 2 of them running around the area!
That is a really, really awesome deer...but I'm kind of with Bruce, I think it's the same deer. He's just not gonna have that thick neck in September that he'll have in December.
Same deer or different deer though, I'd loose an arrow at him!
If you really want some help... I can set up my treestand 20 yards further up the trail and "help" you hunt him. It would double the odds for success!

That is what I thought.
You could be like the folks on the tv shows and let him pass because he's not 5 years old and not met his true potential! Me, I don't ask for a birth certificates. I shoot at that beauty.
Good Luck I hope you get a crack at him!
Glenn
I don't think it is look at the picture from last year one throat patch and the other deer has a double patch.

X2
I even down loaded the pick zoomed in and changed the contrast. Looks like 2 different deer!
Good luck hunting him

:deadhorse: ?
Nice deer Hope you get him.
Zoomed in and thoroughly examined both photos. Unless their fur patterns change from year to year, the dark spot breaking up the white on his snout makes me think you have two of different deer there.
Thats the same buck! If you look closely in the pics, they both have 4 legs, 2 antlers and a pair of ears. Either way he or they are fantastical beasts. Good luck and enjoy the chess game ahead.
You guys have some great deer. Hope your paths cross soon.
Beautiful buck. I can't get over the tine length, HUGE!!! TRW
Nice looking deer for sure. Wether it's the same or not I'm' sure you'll have fun hunting him. Please keep us posted.

A chess game it could be. This pic was taken off a soybean field. Problem is the beans will be cut within 2-weeks of the start of the season. So that gives us about that amount of time to get a crack at him.
Then he will probably follow suit and move to where the corn is. Then finding him again will be the task. But thats why they call it hunting!!!!
The great thing about it is I put the cam in the spot to try to get a pic of another buck we saw the week before. It was bigger than this one. :scared: :bigsmyl:
Hmmm, it would help our analysis of the pictures if you'd throw in GPS coordinates of where the pictures were taken.
Whether it's the same buck or not, beautiful animals. Good luck with your season.
