I don't post very often unless I have something worthwhile to say. Guess this is one of these times.
I just finished reading "More than Tradition" by Nate Bailey in the Oct/Nov TBM. The statistics he quotes stopped me in my tracks.
I've always believed strongly that BOTH parents are important. This article made me thank God that through all out ups and downs my wife and I found ways to work through downs. At 61 and a father of two wonderful sons and grandfather of two grandkids I am so glad we persevered and didn't quit or give up. The rewards are more than worth it.
Anyone who is a father or is thinking of becoming a father really needs to read this. Moms should read it too.

Good post Gord. It does take work and a willingness to share and be unselfish from both partners in the marriage. I put my bowhunting on the side to take my two sons small game hunting for years. Back in the game now and they hunt with me.

Children today need good examples to follow. Yesterday a plane crashed at the national championship air races. I managed the airport there for almost ten years. My son, who is an RN watched me respond to emergencies all that time. When we heard of the crash, he called his boss at the hospital and asked if he were needed. He went in
N at 5 yesterday evening and worked 14 hours. He saw me do that and he followed. I am proud of him. My wife supported me and the bad dreams of body parts everywhere and his wife does the same. Do not just be a father, be a DAD!
Yes, its all about relationships. The way we as fathers inner act and treat our children directly influences their reality and picture of our creator. What a awesome responsibility. Taking my teenage daughter dove hunting in a few hours. Thank you to all the loving fathers who are influencing generations to come. Blessings.
i myself am not a father but, without my dad i would not be half the man i am today. i would not know what i know or be who i am. if that makes since? all in all i love my dad and will always be greatful. SO THANK YOU DADS :clapper:
