I am leaving today sprained thumb and all.
A friend of mine had been complaining about his hunting area and after two years I finally gotr him to hunt my unit. Wanting him to have a good time I showed him one of my honey holes. He set up a tree stand over the wallow and wouldn't ye know it shot a once in a life time bull (6x7) right there where I told him to hunt.
Oh well. Thats what its all about. My hunt partner is shaking his head since he knows I put in two years of scouting every weekend both summers and lots of boot leather to find these places and then just give it away. I f I had known he would only hunt the "spot" and not put in any effort to learn the rest of the area I might not have been so willing but thats how we learn about human nature.
Now its my turn and since I am competitive I a m going to push the limit and see if I can at least do as well.
See ya at the end... and with a tale or two to share.
Joshua
Go git em.
You have prepared and your chance shall come.
Elkspeed to you!
 Have a good hunt!! :campfire:
gotta tell ya after reading your story again i cant help but shake my head as this has happened to me in a way.
I showed a close friend(what i thought was) my favorite honey hole that took me years and miles to find. He got himself his first bull that year that i called in for him.
Well during the year after the season and aproaching the next season he got kinda distant.
its easy to see where im going with this.
Lets just say it got ugly where i found him in the woods in HIS new hunting spot.
We are no longer friends. Im sure your partner isnt like that but unfortunately mine was.
Good Luck, and be safe!
