Title: Allen Company Hand Held Bow Scale
Post by: JMSmithy on September 12, 2011, 09:55:00 AM
Hi Gang

Anybody ever use the above Handheld Bow Scale made by the Allen Company??

I know Allen has a pretty good rep in the shooting sports in general.  Didn't know if anybody familiar with this scale.  Looks pretty easy/simple to use.  Attaches to string with what looks like a very sturdy offset type eyehook.  You then draw to anchor as normal and a sliding scale sits in place at whatever weight bow peaks out at.  Seems like it would be useful for any trad bow or compound for that matter.

Was wondering if anyone new of it or uses one. Is scale's poundage accurate etc.  ???

Look forward to any info.

Be well

If it's a spring type scale I know they never had a good reputation for being accurate back in the day. I use a luggage scale I bought online for $15 and it's been very accurate.

I had one I used for 20 years pretty accurate so I bought a new one a few months ago. They come in handy sometimes.

Sounds like the one I have, but mine's a Redhead. Probably bought at Cabella's, Works good and seems to be pretty accurate.  I've had it for at least 5 years now.  I've been real happy with it.
