Hello all. I understand that depending on your fletching configuration there is going to be a tendency for your pts to unscrew ( kinda like a power tool arbor ). But due to budget concerns, re-fletching or buying new arrows is not an option at this time. Any tips for helping my field pts stay tight? Purple loctite maybe? Thanks again

I've used string wax on threads that seems to help.
A little bit of string wax. Tighten down with pliers just a bit. Mine never come unscrewed until I want them to.

3X string wax
I literally snugged them up after every shot until I put some of those little rubber gaskets on each of them. You know the ones the make it so you can twist your broadhead to a certain angle on the shaft? Not a single one has come loose since then.
Use right wing feathers
4X stringubber washer washer helps also.
oops 4x string wax. rubber washer helps also.
I took a plastic bag(like a grocery sack) and just push it into the shaft threads with the male threads on the point and screw them in. Then just tear away the bag and do another. Never had my judos move after that? I rarely shoot field points because all my practice is roving but I am sure it will work the same.

Elmers glue works perfect!
x5 on string wax and tighten with pliers. I shoot rt wing and they'll still come loose, but don't if done as advised, they never do. Even need pliers to start unscrewing if you want to.
6x stringwax
here is a secret tip that not many people know of but use some string wax,
Rubber cement
string wax for me
wax works great!
String wax works well if you don't live in Texas where it has stayed over 100 almost all summer. The plastic bag in the threads or a little Elmers like has been mentioned above both work well.
Been quite successful using string wax.
I am not frugal with the application, then screw in the point, remove, then re-apply string wax, re-screw-in the point. Simple and consitent fix.
As usual Tradgang comes through! Thanks everyone. I think i'll try some wax on two pts, elmers on two and the bag on two. You guys rock. thanks again
Psssst....string wax.
plumbers teflon tape wrap in the same direction as the threds (helps keep tips tight and for sicking)
i agree with bldtrailer - use some pipe tape - then snug w/a set of pliers.
teflon tape (plumbers)
one drop of thread locker works great
Dental floss works also, wrap the same direction as the threads or as you would teflon tape (plumbers tape).
I use a couple wraps of teflon tape.
Plumbers tape.
I use dental tape.
It all works! But we all have STRING WAX in our archery kits...
It's getting close!! Good luck everybody!
I use the dental floss too.
Another one for pipe tape. Yes, I have it in my archery box ;)
wax em
As many have said string wax on the threads of your field points will do the trick. Try it, you'll like it. :deadhorse:
a drop or two of nail polish on the threads......any color will do.......
Plumbers Teflon tape
