Well with Irene hammering my home and yard I have got off to a late start on my stand sites. Me and Meat started at 8am this morning and worked until 4pm. We were getting ready to cut shooting lanes on stand number 14(only 49 more to go) for the day when Meat says "Oh my goodness you have to get down and see this!" I said finish cutting those last limbs and I will. When I walked over he said look at all these rubs and I looked down a faint run and from where we stood counted over 30, we went about 70 yards total and counted over 30 more. I have pics. of one of them which is on a tree the size of my thigh. Someone send me your e-mail and you can post it for me, please!! In all it was a great day, we saw 3 differnt bucks and countless turkeys and got quite a bit done. We will be at it again tomorrow and hopefully finish the 18 more that are on this property. By the way, I saw 19 different bucks there yesterday evening, so hopefully we have a good year. The buck that made this one rub is a good one I figure!! Shawn
Shawn,
sounds like you are in heaven. Must be a few good ones around with that much sign. Will be looking for the pics.
Sometimes, it depends on the spotlighters and jackers how we do. If those A-holes start in the big guys go into hiding pretty quick. We have 5 weeks before our opener so I will keep my fingers crossed! Shawn
Was there by chance a mineral block in the area? I have a slob close to the spot I hunt who has started doing this and totally disrupted the natural movement of the bucks but there are tons of scrapes in that area.
Shawn, sounds like your off to a positive start. Have a safe and enjoyable season
Jim
Cool bro !
No mineral blocks, this spot is heavily posted and quite a ways back off the road! I sent guys the pics. to be posted. Put up a new stand today, which is just what I needed but I have hunted this property for 19 years and have never been able to hunt this spot, but the power company cleared trees that were in danger of hitting the wires and it opened it up for me. Best stand I have put up in quite a few years!! Unusual number of rubs in this area as well. A very strange year, as I must have counted 70 or more rubs this morning in my 1 mile walk in. Shawn
Wow! That's a nice rub! Good luck to you Shawn this season.

Good luck!
Nice!!!
Looks Good.
Good Luck Shawn, No one puts more work into stands than you. I'd put money on it.
Awesome!!
Be careful not to get rubbed out.
Best of luck!!
Thanks for pic. you can see another behind it as well. I saw several trees this size tore up!! Hope the big guy making this is still around come mid-october! Shawn
The telling is in the height of that rub. Tall deer make tall rubs... and tall deer are usually nice and heavy weight wise. I bet he is a good one.
Shame you have to wait so long Shawn. Good luck this year. Hap
Sorry I was destracted.
