Leaving NJ tomorrow morning at 7 AM for Colorado. We should hit Walden Colorado at 4 PM Thursday. We will pick up our license and stay in Walden Thursday. Then Friday off to the trail head to set up a base camp. Friday we will aclimate to the altitude and climb and hunt around base camp. Then Saturday we head into the backcountry for a 11 day stay. I can't wait. I get back home 9/25/2011.
We hunt hard but my main goal of this trip is to see a Bighorn and Mountain Goat again. Our first camp is 5 miles from the trail head and then our second camp will be 5 more miles in. Where we go from there nobody knows except the elk, wind and compass.
Best of luck :bigsmyl:

Good luck Gil! Bring us back a super story and lots of pictures! Wish I was goimg this year.
Thanks guys. I will post some pictures when I get back. It looks like good weather for the beginning of the hunt. I am hoping it will be colder up high. Walden is going to be in the 70s for the first 4 or 5 days with lows in the 30s.
Hey Gil, What one of your beautiful bows are you taking out to play?
Best of Luck!!

Luck to ya!
Good luck Gil!
Good luck, we are heading out tomorrow also. Hunting northwest of Durango in GMU 71
Good luck, just so you know James and Parry peak got snow on them yesterday which are about 150 miles as the crow flies from near you. What do you have planned for acclimation. i.e. what are you doing to make sure you stay hydrated enough. Just remember the 3 c's clear, copious and continuous in the session of each pee break.
Good luck to you Gil.
Look forward to pics and the story/stories.
