Title: Montana reports
Post by: J from Denmark on September 06, 2011, 01:30:00 PM
Hi guys
We are trying to get legalized biggame hunting with the bow here in dk. ( only up to roedeer now )
And I remember reading about Poul Schafer and something about the state of Montana making a yearly report of recovery of bowshot game.

Anybody know of these reports and where to find them ?

Anybody know of other reports ( except Ashbys ) that describe the lethallity of bow and arrow ?

Thanks
Jacob

Jacob....I'm a past two-term prez of the MBA, and I can tell you there is no such record.  Even the state DFWP does not keep records.  Really, short of a few studies done on military bases, I can't recall anything that detailed...I could be wrong.    We researched ourselves at one point (to find out equipment and tech differences when we established our equipment regulations for bowhunting) and could only find some older studies.  Since that time (late 90's) there have been a couple studies done on military installations that allow bowhunting.  I'd suggest you get a copy of Dr. David Samuel's "Know Hunting", as he is pretty good at keeping such records.   Also, check with the Pope $ Young club.    Good luck!
