Title: strange bareshaft/ fletched groups
Post by: Carbonkiller on September 05, 2011, 05:22:00 PM
so i usually shoot a morrison ilf recurve but i just got a r/d longbow. my bareshafts are a hair weak, which i like, at 25 yrds....but no matter what point weight i put on the fletched arrows..they shoot left? what gives? any suggestions

btw- the bow is 48# at the clicker and im shooting full length beman 500s with 145gr. points. but tried 200 gr. heads and no difference noticed on the fletched arrows

If you are talking a couple inches left but grouping well, I'd fiddle with the brace or reduce plate thickness. Fletching will increase spine a bit, but as far you shooting up to 200 with no difference, I'm lost there.

Well your recurve is cut past center and the R/D longbow probably isn't.May be why you shoot left at a longer distance. You might try canting the longbow alittle for longer distance shooting.Try shooting closer and then move back alittle at a time.See if the further back you shoot if you start shooting alittle left.Just a suggestion?
