Title: Sting stretching Help
Post by: rluttrell on September 05, 2011, 07:06:00 PM
I didn't want to Camp on another thread it had to do with building a stretcher.
Thanks to all that showed how it's done, I think I will try the S hangers and Ratchet system. How much tension should be put on the string? Another question will the string stretch and need to be tightened more or do you put a lot of pressure on it to began with?

When I make a string, I put it on the bow and pull the tips back gently. You can feel the stringg stretch when you do this. Then restring the bow to proper brace and leave it strung overnight. Should be stretched by then, with no further problems.

I have done this too with B55. You can feel it settle in. Minimal creep after that.
