Title: Arrow flight question
Post by: rluttrell on September 03, 2011, 04:01:00 PM
I have fletched my 1st set of arrows. Bemans 500 with a 85 grain tip. they are not cut as they are the right lengh for my draw. 9 arrows fly perfect. I have 3 that the backend seems rotate clockwise in a 6 inch diameter. I don’t have a clue as to why. your thoughts

I don't know but you should probably try some bare shaft testing.Check the tuning info at bowmaker.net.Side to side issues are usually spine related.Up and down is usually nocking point height, sometimes form. You may be seeing a combination of both.85 grs seems extremely light and may be making your arrows react too stiff.

If these are your first arrows, I suspect that you mixed the fletching on the three that don't fly well. Check them carefully to be sure they are fletched with the same wing feathers. That may solve the problem.

I have checked them and the cock feather just don’t seem right. It’s on its edge and not flat. I will pull them off and try again.
I was also concerned with the glue that I used when I put the inserts in I laid the arrows on their side and thought maybe too much went on one side.
