I have a early A Mag riser in great shape and a newer set of #1 limbs that are FF compatable. Does the whole bow riser and limbs need to be FF compatable or are the limb tips the most important part (that would make sense)?
Not the end of the world but I have a bunch of FF strings in different sizes and would prefer to use them from economic standpoint mainly but not saving if it breaks my old riser!

Sorry for dupe post in History Collecting but that area doesnt get much attention.
The limbs,specifically the limb tips are the only thing that make it FF compatible.You are good to go.

Kinda what I thought someone else that I respect their opinion told me that the Mag in general (not mine specfically) has weak spots and the FF could cause failure. Which didnt make sense cause I thought too it was the tips! Thanks
If you have ever stripped a mag riser down to the metal to refinish, you can sometimes see imperfection in the castings.
I would say there are some risers out there that have weak spots because of the imperfections in the casting. Personally, I have seen only one that was broken or cracked, I do not know what caused that one.
