i am hitting low right..4" low and 5-6" right. why? i shoot right handed. shooting cedars..65/70 or 70/75..cant remember..with 135 simmons tiger shark and 125 field points and cx heritage 250 with 200 up front. everything is low right..why???? i shot a full length 55/75 bare shaft and it looked like it flew great..almost dark tho..but there again it hit low right.
is it something in me? i even too a pine needle bundle..like a toothpick,,and built the shelf out and its still doing it..not as bad with the carbons. also i have velcro for shelf material.
Are you collapsing at all, not getting fully opened up before release? If I shoot too much I have the tendency to start collapsing a bit before release, this causes me to shoot low as im not getting full draw.
What cures me is not shooting for a day or 2.
Just a thought.
If righty, you may have extended you draw causing a weaker spine! Recheck brace, and nock point to make sure that they haven't changed! This is all assumeing that things were shooting good for you before! arras sound weak in spine!
jim thats what im thinking too..the bh was low last week and i moved it up..only thing. i shoot with a clicker and am pulling through good. the arrows are flying good. i need to bare shaft my cx arrows again to ensure they are still good. the woodies fly goood too..i figured they may be a touch weak, but may not be able to cut any off without hitting riser with heads. thas why i built the shelf out some.
crazy thing is that we have been shooting at a church group shoot every tuesday and i dont notice this on the targets there..at least it doesnt stand out in my mind from last week.
I had this happen when I switched to a softer ahooting glove but if you had changed gloves, I'm sure you would have thought of that. My groups moved over a foot at 20 yards.
When I do that, its because I'm not following thru the shot, dropping my bow arm before the arrow finds the target.
Did your bow grip change at all?
If your brace height and nock point is set where you tuned the bow, then like kennym says you just maybe are peeking,(dropping the bow arm down and away) Try a few shots just focusing on the target and nothing else, hold your bow arm and release hand after the shot as if your still trying to make the shot(for a few seconds longer)see if that changes impact!
What is your bow weight and draw lenght? with this info we can look at spine!
If you bare shaft tuned your bow to where your bare shafts and fletched arrows impact the same, then we need to look at other things,like above!
have you changed anything, ie. glove,new string, added different string silencers, brush buttons, rest material, tip protector! Is your serving slipping?(this you will notice if your nock has moved up or down from your tuned setting) is there seperation in the serving?
I feel your pain as I have been down that road, sometimes we just have to step back take a deep breath and start from square one!
I find the same thing happens to me (as I too shoot right handed with a clicker). Try taking a few shots without the clicker and see if the arrows come back to the left.
Also, the problem for me is that I'm using my fingers to reach the "click" instead of my back. If I really focus on using my back to get to the click, the arrows often come back to the left. I've also held the bow more verticle (less cant) to get me re-aligned, as I would cant the bow but not my head to the same angle.
Good luck with this, I know the frustration that goes with shooting groups in the wrong spot. You'll figure it out......Ryan
